Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum
Industry Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of February, 1914.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE W. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council gazetted, may, on the
recommendation of the Land Board, declare that any land
comprised in a kauri-gum reserve shall, from a date to be
specified in the Order, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum
Industry Act, 1908, and on and after the date so specified,
the land to which the Order relates shall become subject to
the provisions of the Land Act, 1908:

And whereas the Land Board of the Auckland Land
District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the
portion of the Poroti Kauri-gum Reserve described in the
Schedule hereto be excepted from the operations of the
Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is expedient to give
effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by section forty-six of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
do hereby order and declare that the portion of the Poroti
Kauri-gum Reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, shall,
from the twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum
Industry Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 499 acres 2 roods 28 perches, more or
less, being part of Poroti Kauri-gum Reserve, set apart by
Order in Council dated 25th September, 1899, and published
in Gazette No. 79, of 28th September, 1899, and now known
as Section 27, Block X, Purua Survey District. Commencing
at a point 129·4 links due south from the south-western
corner of Section 15, Block X, Purua Survey District.
Bounded towards the north generally by a public road 100
links wide, 706·6, 798·3, 1139·4, 2059·8, 383, 441·3, 1142·8,
588·9, and 142·2 links; towards the east and south-east by
Poroti Kauri-gum Reserve, 2401·3, 1845·3, 1384·8, 1384·1,
and 2086·4 links; and towards the south-west and west by
Poroti Kauri-gum Reserve, 984·9, 1173·9, 313·9, 977, 796·1,
1070·6, 2014·3, and 4878·5 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the
same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 5525/23,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland
Plan 16020, blue.)

Land at Morley Village, Southland, declared to be a Sanctuary
for Imported and Native Game.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito
Savile, Earl of Liverpool, do hereby notify and declare that
the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary
for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that
no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed
within the said area.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 4 acres and 9 perches, more or less, being

Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block II, Village of Morley. Bounded
towards the north by Section No. 3, towards the east by the
Wairio Stream, towards the south by a public road, and
towards the west by a public road.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of February, one thousand
nine hundred and fourteen.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of Portion of a
Reserve in the Borough of Geraldine, Canterbury Land
District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908, it is, amongst other things, enacted that
the Governor may declare his intention to change, ex-
change, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now
or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any
of the purposes named in Class II of the Second Schedule to
the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and in
the case of any reserve made under the authority of section
three hundred and twenty-one of the Land Act, 1908, if
it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to
change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from
the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart
to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be
dedicated to one or more of the purposes named in the said
Class II, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in
such notice declare the manner and terms in which the
same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, aforesaid, declare my intention to change
the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described
in Part II of the Schedule hereto from that named in
Part I of the said Schedule to that named in Part III of
the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 32 perches, more or less, being Reserve
No. 2675, situated in the Borough of Geraldine, and bounded
eastward by the terrace of the River Waihi, south-westward
by Reserve No. 1373, north-westward by Talbot Street,
450 links, and also by Reserve No. 421, 60 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on
the plan marked L. and S. 42297A, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon coloured pink.

Permanently reserved as a drill-shed site and parade-ground
by Warrant in Gazette No. 1, of 4th January, 1900, page 13.

PART II.

Description of Portion of Reserve the Purpose of which it is
intended to change.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 16·8 perches, more or less, being part of
Reserve No. 2675, situated in the Borough of Geraldine, and
bounded north-westward by Talbot Street, 190·5 links, and
by Reserve 421, 60 links; eastward by the terrace of the
River Waihi; and south-westward by a line at right angles
to the north-western boundary, 20 links: as the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 42297B, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

PART III.

Intended Purpose.

Site for a fire-brigade station.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this seventh day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen.
