WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR LOAN OF £550 OVER THE COUNTY OF WHAKATANE FOR METALLING AND IMPROVING WHAKATANE—TE TEKO ROAD.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £550, authorized to be raised by the Whakatane County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling and improving the Whakatane—Te Teko Road, and the payment of the cost of raising the loan, and the first year’s interest and sinking fund thereon, the said Whakatane County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one one-hundredth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Whakatane (being the special-rating area for the above-mentioned loan); and that such special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Whakatane County Council held on the 21st September, 1914.

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR A SPECIAL LOAN OF £250 OVER THE TOWNSHIP OF MATATA FOR PURPOSE OF RE-ERECTING BRIDGES.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £250, authorized to be raised by the Whakatane County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of re-erecting bridges over the Waitepuru Stream and Waimea Stream where they cross Pakeha Street, in the Township of Matata, the formation and metalling of approaches to the said bridges (and any balance over from the above to be devoted to improving the streets of the Matata Township), and the payment of the first year’s interest and sinking fund and cost of raising loan, the Whakatane County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property in the Matata Township Special-rating Area, comprising all the land contained in the Township of Richmond (or Matata); and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that Part II of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, will be brought into operation in the Manukau County on the 10th day of December, 1914, pursuant to the resolution of the Council of the said county passed in that behalf on the 12th day of October, 1914.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of R. W. Holmes and Co. (Limited), an incorporated company having its registered office situate in Nith Street, Invercargill, and carrying on business as Merchant Indent and Manufacturers’ Agent.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 7th day of December, 1914, presented to Mr. Justice Sim, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by George Scott, of Christchurch, carrying on business there and at Invercargill under the style of the Atlas Biscuit and Confectionery Company; and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court at the Courthouse, Dunedin, on the 15th day of January, 1915, at the hour of 11 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

WAIKATO RIVER BOARD.
IT has been proposed, under and by virtue of powers conferred on this Board by the River Boards Act, 1908, at a meeting of the Waikato River Board held on 31st November, 1914, that all lands within the boundaries as set forth in Schedule hereunder shall be separate subdivisions under the Waikato River Board.
