Special Order made by the Pelorus Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Pelorus Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

PELORUS ROAD BOARD.

Special Order raising Special Loan.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Pelorus Road Board hereby resolves (by special order) to borrow by way of special loan the sum of £650 for the purpose of providing the said Pelorus Road Board’s share of the costs in connection with the erection of the new Wairau Hospital, and for paying the costs of raising the loan, and the first year’s interest on the loan, also for the purpose of providing security for the repayment of the loan, and interests and sinking fund thereon, the said Pelorus Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/6d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property over the whole of the Pelorus Road District, such special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was passed at a special meeting of the Pelorus Road Board held on the 3rd day of November, 1914, and duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 1st day of December, 1914.

My Lord,—I have the honour to transmit to your Excellency, for the information of your Ministers, copies of a notice issued by the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament with regard to nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize of 1915.

  1. I have to request that your Ministers will be so good as to cause the conditions of the prize to be made known to those bodies and persons who are qualified to nominate candidates.

  2. It will be observed that the names of candidates should be received by the Nobel Committee before the 1st February, 1915.
