Western Spit, all in Block IV, Heretaunga Survey District,
and terminating at a point marked 2 miles 68½ chains in the
said Section 85, Township of Westshore, Western Spit, which
point is coincident with a point marked 1 mile 68½ chains on
the plan of the previous Proclamation P.W.D. 31438; including
all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads,
tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses : all in the
Land District of Hawke’s Bay : as the same is delineated on
the plan marked P.W.D. 36797, deposited in the office of the
Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington
Provincial District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in

Amending a Proclamation taking Land for Buller Bridge Road
through Section 62, Square 138, Block XIII, Matiri Survey
District, Inangahua County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section five of the Land Act, 1908, it is
provided that every Proclamation, Order in Council,
or other instrument, whether made under any Act in force
prior to the commencement of that Act, or made under or
by virtue of that Act, and all the regulations, by-laws, con-
ditions, or rules made by the Governor, the Minister, or any
Land Board, may be altered, amended, or revoked from time
to time :
And whereas it is necessary to amend a Proclamation
issued under the Land Act, 1892, taking land for a road in
Matiri Survey District, dated the second day of February,
one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 12, page 445, of the seventh day of
the same month, and hereinafter referred to as “the said
Proclamation”:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested
in me by the said Act, do hereby amend the said Proclamation
as follows—namely, by inserting the following Schedule in
the said Proclamation in lieu of the Schedule mentioned
therein, which is hereby revoked.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road :
l acre 3 roods 30 perches.
Portion of Section 62, Square 138, Nelson R.D.
Situated in Block XIII, Matiri Survey District.
In the Nelson Land District ; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36761, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the
Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the

Declaring Land purchased for a Public Work, and not
required for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the
Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any
land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under
this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise
howsoever, for any public work is not required for such
public work the Governor may, by an Order in Council
publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold
under the conditions therein mentioned :
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of
any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government
work and not required for that purpose the Governor
may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without
complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid
section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be
Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon
the land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was purchased for the purposes of a laboratory: And
whereas such land is not now required for such purposes,
and it is desirable to declare the said land to be Crown
land: And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the
Minister has recommended the Governor to declare such
land to be Crown land :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-
recited Acts, and of all other powers in anyway enabling
me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto
to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that
such land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared to be Crown
land: 4 acres 2 roods 29 perches.
Portion of Section 98B, Lot 1 (Hutt R.D.).
Situated in Block I, Rimutaka Survey District.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36563,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon edged pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,

WHEREAS the Otago Central Railway (hereinafter
termed “the said railway”) is a railway the con-
struction of which is authorized by the Public Works Act,
1908: And whereas the said railway has been partly con-
structed, and it has been determined to construct and main-
tain a further portion of the same :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of
the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other
power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf,
