Authorizing the Laying-off of Renata Road and Taranaki Road,
in the Town of Karamu Extension No. 2, of a Width of not
less than 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon
me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby
authorize the laying off of Renata Road and Taranaki
Road, in the Town of Karamu Extension No. 2, Hawke's
Bay Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft.
instead of 99 ft.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed by the Mount Albert
Borough Council, Auckland.—Notice No. 1762.

Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce,
Wellington, 2nd November, 1914.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the
Mount Albert Borough Council has, by special order,
declared spiderwort (Leycesteria formosa) to be a noxious
weed within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908,
in the district under its jurisdiction.

Appointing Saturday as the Statutory Closing-day in the Town
District of Martinborough.

WHEREAS by section 17 of the Shops and Offices Act,
1908, it is enacted that the result of every poll taken
in any separate or combined district under the authority of
that section shall be notified to the Minister of Labour in the
manner therein provided, and the Minister shall thereupon
appoint the day determined by the result of such poll as the
statutory closing-day for that district: And whereas the
Clerk of the Martinborough Town Board has notified to me
that the result of the poll taken in the Town District of
Martinborough is in favour of Saturday as the statutory
closing-day in that town district:

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in this behalf
conferred on me by the said section 17, I, William Ferguson
Massey, the Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Saturday
as the statutory closing-day in the Martinborough Town
District.

NOTE.—This notice takes effect from the 1st day of June,
1915, and continues in force until another day is appointed by

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the
Council of the Borough of Marton, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913.

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £5,000.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the
Borough of Marton was taken on Wednesday, 28th October,
1914, on the proposal of the Marton Borough Council to
borrow the sum of £5,000 for the purpose of scarifying, rolling,
metalling, asphalting, culverting, also reforming certain foot-
paths in the Borough of Marton.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 82
votes, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal
was 11 ; informal, nil.

I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XII, Rolleston
Survey District, for the Purposes of a Prison.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to
take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the
purposes of a prison. And notice is hereby further given
that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited
in the post-office at Templeton, and is there open for
inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of
the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objec-
tions to the taking of such land, set forth the same in
writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be
taken: 111 acres (red margin), Section 5; and 98 acres
2 roods (yellow margin), Section 6.

Situated in Drayton Settlement (Canterbury R.D.),
Block XII, Rolleston Survey District.

All in the Canterbury Land District; as the same are
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
36501, and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in
the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in
the Wellington Provincial District.

As witness my hand, at Wellington, this 3rd day of
November, 1914.

Survey District, for the Purposes of an Automatic Telephone
Exchange.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take
the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes
of an automatic telephone exchange. And notice is hereby
further given that the plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the post-office at Remuera, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-
grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth
the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty
days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
29·42 perches.

Portion of Lot 2, Section 11, Suburbs of Auckland (17950,
blue).

Situated in Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36536,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured red.
