Whakatane, being the county within the boundaries of which
it is situated :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers vested in him by the Town Boards Amendment Act,
1908 (No. 2), and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
order and declare that, on and after the first day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, the Whakatane Town
District shall not form part of the County of Whakatane.

Land temporarily reserved for Defence Purposes in the Borough
of Palmerston North, Wellington Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first
section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily
reserve from sale the land in the Wellington Land District
described in the Schedule hereunder written, for defence pur-
poses.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 12·2 perches, more or less, being part
of Section 639, Borough of Palmerston North. Bounded
towards the north-west by Main Street East, 30·54 links ;
towards the north-east by Section 637, 250·63 links ; towards
the south-east by Section 640, 30·54 links ; and towards the
south-west by the other part of Section 639, 250·63 links :
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less : as the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/301, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of October, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory
Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices
of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set
out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office
of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at
the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are
authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under
the two hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of
the Peace Act, 1908.
