two (2) cables S.E. of Bird Rock in three (3) fathoms at
L.W.S., to mark the extreme limits of the outlying rocks to
the southward of Bird Rock.
This buoy should be kept on the port hand in entering.
Approximate position: Lat. 32° 11½′ S., long. 133° 37½′ E.
This affects Admiralty Chart No. 1061.

Notice to Mariners No. 6 of 1914.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—DREDGING OFF QUEEN’S AND HOBSON WHARVES.
Marine Department,
Wellington, 13th January, 1914.
THE Auckland Harbour Board has notified that the
dredger “Hapai” is now working approximately
400 ft. north of the end of the Queen’s Wharf, with six moor-
ings laid out—in north, south, east, and west directions.
The dredger “121” is working approximately 800 ft. west of
the north-west corner of the Hobson Wharf, and has six
moorings laid out—in north, south, east, and west directions.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—REMOVAL OF BUOYS, KAIPARA SHOAL AND CALLIOPE DOCK.

Wellington, 14th January, 1914.
THE Auckland Harbour Board has notified that, as from
the 19th instant, the red buoy marking the vicinity
of the Kaipara Shoal, at the entrance to Auckland Harbour,
will be removed permanently.
The buoy at Calliope Dock, in Auckland Harbour, will
also be removed permanently as from the 19th instant.

1970; New Zealand Pilot, eighth edition, 1908, Chapter ii,
page 41; New Zealand Nautical Almanac and Tide Tables,
