TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, the Taranaki County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £600 authorized to be raised by the Taranaki County Council for the purpose of forming and metalling the Upper Plymouth Road, the Taranaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three farthings in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Upper Plymouth Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 6, Block V, Paritutu Survey District; 2, part 1, 3, 163, 164, 85, 162, 165, 161, 159, 160, 86, 158, 82, 84, 76, 78, 80, 79, part 81, part 83, parts 81, 83, 73, 77, 74, Block I, Egmont Survey District, and Sections 2, 3, 4A, Block II, Wairau Survey District; as the same are shown on plan marked H and coloured blue, deposited in the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office, Wellington. Such special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be payable on the seventh day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution duly passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Taranaki County Council held on the 5th day of January, 1914.

LOCAL ELECTIONS AND POLLS ACT, 1908, AND THE RATING ACT, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, at a poll of the rate-payers of the Borough of Alexandra taken at the Town Hall, Alexandra, on the 1st day of December, 1913 (between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.), on the proposal “To adopt the system of rating upon the basis of unimproved values,” the following votes were recorded: Against the proposal, 53; for the proposal, 47; majority against the proposal, 6; valid voting-papers, 100; informal voting-papers, 1; total voting-papers, 101.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be rejected.
