Notifying Lands in Westland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

The improvements on the town sections consist of buildings generally in poor repair; on Suburban Sections 1, 2, 5, 7, of buildings and fencing; and on Suburban Sections 3, 4, and 6, of fencing only.
Ahaura is an old-established township, situated adjacent to the Ahaura Railway-station on the Greymouth-Reefton Railway line. The whole of the town sections and Suburban Sections 5 and 6 comprise wholly flat open land, but the remaining suburban sections are broken by a terrace and carry some birch bush, part of which has been cleared.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Opening Settlement Land in Southland Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

The improvements included in the capital value consist of half value (£8 8s.) of 56 chains of post-and-wire fencing on the eastern and southern boundaries.
The improvements which are not included in the capital value, but which must be paid for in cash, consist of buildings, fencing, clearing, and grassing, the whole valued at £75 6s.
100 acres first-class agricultural land; remainder second-class mixed agricultural and pastoral land. Partly open and partly bush land. About 113 acres of bush, containing a fair amount of fencing material, 40 acres has been ploughed and sown in English grass, which requires renewing; the balance is flax and tussock. The section consists of flat ridges and steep sides, and the soil is good. Height above sea-level, 100 ft. to 300 ft. Access by formed and partly metalled road. Distance from Glenham Railway-station, post and telephone office, school, and dairy factory, two miles, and from Wyndham four miles, by formed road. The Mataura River flows near the western boundary of the section.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve for sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
