CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, we hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Christchurch taken on the 30th day of October, 1913, on the proposal of the Christchurch City Council to borrow the sum of forty-two thousand pounds (£42,000) for the purpose of widening certain streets, &c., and providing buildings for and additions to public libraries in Linwood, St. Albans, Waltham, and Addington, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 680, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,509.

We therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £120.—WARREN ROAD.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £120, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling about forty chains of the east end of the Warren Road, and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-tenths of a penny (3/10d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Warren Road Special-rating District, comprising Section CCLXXVIII, Section Part XLIV, 160 acres (northern portion), Section Part XLV, 30 acres (northern portion), and Section Part CCLXXVII, 140 acres (south-eastern portion), all being situate in Block XII, Wangaehu Survey District, and more particularly shown on the plan attached to the ratepayers’ consent to such loan and thereon bordered red; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, the interest and repayment on such loan being together at the rate of £5 12s. 2d. per centum per annum.

It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on Saturday, the 1st day of November, 1913.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £850.—UTIKU BRIDGE.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £850, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the construction of a bridge over the Hautapu River at Utiku, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven-twentieths of a penny (11/20d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Utiku Bridge Special-rating District, comprising all that area situate within the County of Rangitikei, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block I, Township of Potaka, situated in Block III, Hautapu S.D.; thence in a south-easterly direction by the south-west boundary of said Section 1, across Rupe Street, and by the south-west boundaries of Sections 1, 32, and 31, Block III, of the said Potaka Township, and across main road to the north-west corner of Section 2, Block VII, Potaka Township; thence in a south-westerly direction generally by the north-west boundaries of Sections 2 and 3, and across Tara Street, and by the north-west boundaries of Sections 4 and 5 to the south-west corner of said Section 5; thence in an easterly direction by the south boundary of said Section 5, across the railway and Torea Street, and by the south boundaries of Sections 11 and 16, Block VI, Potaka Township, and the production of such boundary to the east bank of the Hautapu River; thence in a southerly direction by the eastern bank of the said Hautapu River to its confluence with the Rangitikei River; thence in an easterly direction by the north bank of the Rangitikei River to the east boundary of the Awarua 3b No. 2c Block; thence in a northerly direction by the said boundary to the southern boundary of Section 8, Block VII, Hautapu S.D.; thence in a westerly direction by the southern boundary of said Section 8 to the south-east corner of Section 6; and thence in a northerly direction by the eastern boundaries of Sections 6 and 5 to the south boundary of Section 28, Block III, Hautapu S.D.; thence in an easterly direction by the south boundaries of Sections 28 and 41 to the south-east corner of Section 41; thence in a northerly direction by the east boundary of Section 41 to the Puhirua Road, and by the said road to the north-east corner of Section 25; thence in a westerly direction by the northern boundaries of Sections 25, 24, 23, 22, and 21 to the Wairanu Road; thence in a southerly direction by the said road to the easternmost corner of Section 4; thence in a south-westerly direction by the south-east boundary of Section 4 and such boundary produced to the east bank of the Hautapu River; thence in a northerly direction by the said east bank to a point opposite the production of the north-west boundary of Section 10, Block II, Township of Potaka; thence in a westerly direction by the said line of production and the north-west boundaries of Sections 10, 9, 8, and 1, Block II, across road and railway and road, and by the north-west boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, Block I, Township of Potaka, to point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, the interest and repayment on such loan being together at the rate of £5 12s. 2d. per centum per annum.

The following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Pigeon Bay Road Board held on Monday, third day of November, 1913:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Pigeon Bay Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Pigeon Bay Road Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for road from Menzies Bay to Summit
