and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fifteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and three, certain powers were delegated to the St. Bathan’s Domain Board for a period of ten years:

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen:

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

FRANCIS EAGLE,
ROBERT COWAN,
PATRICK THOMAS O’REGAN,
WILLIAM McCONNOCHIE,
WILLIAM PYLE, and
OLUF MOEN

to be the St. Bathan’s Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the tenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and Mr. Pyle’s office, at St. Bathan’s, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

St. Bathan’s Domain.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 23 acres 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being Section 25, Block II, St. Bathan’s Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Crown lands, 1080 links; towards the south-east by part of Section 23 of aforesaid block, 439 links; towards the east by part of said Section 23, 1032 links; towards the south by Section 26 of aforesaid block, 850 links; towards the south-west by a public road, 1854 links; and towards the north-west by Crown lands, 1115 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1395/10A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Alexandra Town Belt Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of November, 1913.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section forty-seven of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint any local authority to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain:

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and five, certain powers were delegated to the Alexandra Town Belt Domain Board for a period of seven years:

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twelve:

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

THE ALEXANDRA BOROUGH COUNCIL

to be the Alexandra Town Belt Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Borough Council Chambers, Alexandra, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

ALEXANDRA TOWN BELT DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 157 acres, more or less, being Town Belt, Town of Alexandra. Bounded towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 1 and 2 (cemetery reserves), Block XXXVIII, of aforesaid town, 2200 links; towards the north-west by aforesaid Section No. 2, 500 links; again towards the north-east by Block VII, Leaning Rock Survey District, 5145 links; towards the south-east by the Manuherikia River, 1030 links; towards the south-west by the Town of Alexandra, 6600 links; again towards the south-east by the Town of Alexandra, 10050 links; again towards the south-west by the Clutha River, 1375 links; and again towards the north-west by Block VII, Leaning Rock Survey District, 11350 links; excepting out of the above-described boundaries part of Section No. 1, Block XIX, dam-site, Town of Alexandra, Crookhaven Street, Otago Central Railway Reserve, and four road-lines each 100 links wide, for which allowance has been made in the area: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 52295A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Regulations as to Issue of Licenses to take Trout, Perch, and Tench.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of November, 1913.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section eighty-three of the Fisheries Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, make regulations for, amongst other things, providing for the issue of licenses to take fish or specified kinds of fish, the mode of applying for and conditions of such licenses, and the fee to be paid in respect thereto:

And whereas it is desirable to make a regulation to provide that no acclimatization society shall canvass for or issue licenses outside the boundary of its district:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS.

  1. ACCLIMATIZATION societies shall only issue licenses at places within the boundaries of their own district, and no society shall canvass or seek to induce any person outside its district to take a license from it.

  2. Any society committing a breach of the above regulation is liable to a fine not exceeding £50.

Tuatara Lizard absolutely protected.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do by this notification declare that the lizard known as tuatara (Sphenodon punctatum) shall be protected absolutely throughout the said Dominion.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.
