WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF RESOLUTION.
NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the
Waikohu County Council held on Friday, the nine-
teenth day of September, 1913, the following resolution was
passed :—
Resolution.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and by the
New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the
amendments thereof, the Waikohu County Council hereby
resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the
interest and sinking fund on a loan of £400, authorized to be
raised by the Waikohu County Council, under the above-
mentioned Acts, for erecting a bridge over the Mangatu
River, the said Waikohu County Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of one-ninth of a penny in the pound
upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Manga-
maia No. 4 Special-rating Area as described in the Schedule
hereto; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the first day of July in each and every year during the cur-
rency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half
years (36½), or until the loan is fully paid off. It is proposed
to pay the cost of raising the loan out of loan-moneys.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Waikohu was hereto affixed in
the presence of—

KAPONGA TOWN BOARD.
RESOLUTION PASSED AT A MEETING HELD 16TH SEPTEMBER,
1913.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act,
1910, the Kaponga Town Board hereby makes and levies,
for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of
principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan
of £500, authorized to be raised by the Kaponga Town Board,
under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amend-
ments, for water and drainage purposes, a special rate of
3/20d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable
property of the Kaponga Town District; and that such
special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day
of January in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.

WARKWORTH TOWN BOARD.
RESULT OF POLL.
PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I
hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
taken on the proposal to adopt the system of rating on unim-
proved value on 26th September, 1913, the following votes
were recorded: For the proposal, 52; against the proposal, 72.
I declare the proposal to rate on the unimproved value has
been rejected by a majority of 20 votes.

matter of the Southland Soap, Candle, and Manufac-
turing Company (Limited), (in Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the Southland Soap, Candle, and Manu-
facturing Company (Limited) held in Allen’s Hall, Kelvin
Street, Invercargill, on the 20th day of October, 1913, the
following resolution was passed:—
That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities con-
tinue to carry on its business, and that the same be liqui-
dated; and that the Secretary, JAMES HUNTER, of Inver-
cargill, be appointed Liquidator thereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that the creditors of the above-
named company are required, on or before 23rd day
of November, 1913, to send in their names and addresses,
and the particulars of their debts or claims, and the names
and addresses of their solicitors, if any, to the undersigned at
his office, Esk Street, Invercargill, the Liquidator of the said
company; and, if so required by notice in writing from the
said Liquidator, are personally or by their solicitors to come
in and prove their said claims or debts at such time and
place as shall be specified in such notice, or in default thereof
they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution
made before such debts or claims are proved.
