Opening Settlement Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the fifteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

Weighted with £166 for improvements, consisting of five-roomed house and 8 acres grassing.

Altitude, 200 ft. to 260 ft. above sea-level. Eight acres in grass, 25 acres manuka; balance gully and swamp. Soil of a light sandy nature; well watered by stream; general quality of section is rather inferior. Distant two miles and a half from Cambridge Railway-station by good formed cart-road.

MATAMATA COUNTY.—PATETERE NORTH SURVEY DISTRICT.—SELWYN SETTLEMENT.

Altitude, about 250 ft. above sea-level. Level land, covered with fern, manuka, and gorse. Soil of a light sandy nature; no water on section. Distant about five miles from Tirau or Okoroire Railway-stations by good road in each case.

Land temporarily reserved for the Growth and Preservation of Timber in Waipori Survey District, Otago Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written for the growth and preservation of timber.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 187 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Sections 51, Block VIII, and 8, Block X, Waipori Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by part of Section 7 of said Block VIII, 6976·2 links; towards the south-east by Section 6 of said Block X, 1413·6 links; towards the south by Crown lands, 5705·3 links; towards the north-west and west generally by the Waipori River, 11,200 links; and again towards the north-west by Crown lands, 1236·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 437/27, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington. and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor this eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Land temporarily reserved as a Resting-place for Travelling Stock in Hangaroa Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Bounded towards the north-east by Section 44 of said block for a distance of 1966·4 links; towards the south-east by main Wairoa-Gisborne Road for a distance of 536·6 links; towards the south-west by main Wairoa-Gisborne Road for a distance of 1849·6 links; and towards the north-west generally by St. Leger’s Road for a distance of 734·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/1094, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ROBERT BLACKBURN, Jun., and
JOHN JOHNSON

to be Trustees, in the place of Robert Blackburn and William Charles Issell, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Karamea Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Joseph Elford, Henry Hawse, Samuel Morrow Scott, Middleton Ray, and William Ryan Simpson, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Warrant authorizing the Hamilton Borough Council to construct a Bridge over the Waitawhiriwhiri Stream, and apportioning the Cost.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and nineteen of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that in any case where the local authority of any district desires to construct a bridge, or to establish a ferry or ford, in any position that will, in its opinion, be of advantage or benefit to the whole or any considerable portion of the inhabitants of an adjacent district, as well as to the inhabitants of its own district, and where it is, in the opinion of such local authority, reasonable that the local authority having control of such adjacent district should contribute to the cost of constructing or establishing the said bridge, ferry, or ford, the provisions of the said section shall have effect:

And whereas the Hamilton Borough Council has given notice, and taken the steps as required by the said Act, and has made application to the Governor to authorize the con-
