HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the rate-payers of the Borough of Hawera taken on the 29th day of August, 1913, on the proposal of the Hawera Borough Council to borrow the sum of £30,000 for (1) extending sewerage system ; (2) kerbing and channelling and, where necessary, grading footpaths ; (3) asphalting footpaths ; (4) tarviating or asphalting streets ; (5) grading, metalling, and, where necessary, fencing streets ; (6) renewing portion of water-mains ; (7) scraping water-mains, including purchase of plant and material and installation of hatch-boxes, fire-plugs, and shut-off valves ; (8) erecting a public convenience ; and (9) purchasing plant, &c., required for carrying out above-mentioned works.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 250 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 96 ; informal votes, 17.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

TEMUKA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE ON TEN PER CENT. ADDITIONAL LOAN OF £1,129 FOR COMPLETION OF GRAVITATION HIGH-PRESSURE WATER-SUPPLY.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the Acts amending the same respectively, the Temuka Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of completing the gravitation high-pressure water-supply, the said Temuka Borough Council hereby authorizes the raising of a special loan of £1,129 (eleven hundred and twenty-nine pounds), such amount being 1/10th (one-tenth) of the special loan of £11,290 raised by the Temuka Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, and known as “The Gravitation High-pressure Water-supply Loan.” And that such special loan of £1,129 be for a period of 36½ years, and that the rate of interest be £4½ per centum per annum, and that there be paid a half-yearly instalment in respect of principal and interest of £2 16s. 1d. for each £100 of the said loan.
“And, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and other charges in connection with the said loan, the said Temuka Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh of a penny in the £ (pound) on the annual capital rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Temuka ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off. And that the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s instalment in respect of principal and interest be paid out of the moneys raised by such loan.”
The foregoing resolution was passed at a properly convened special meeting of the Temuka Borough Council held on the 20th day of August, 1913.

IN LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution was passed at a general meeting of shareholders on the 15th August, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 30th August, 1913.
“That the Levin Implement Company (Limited) at a special meeting hereby decide that the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that Mr. R. D. WALLACE be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding up the affairs of the company and distributing its assets.”

TAIHAPE POST COMPANY (LIMITED).
IN LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-mentioned company will be held in the Town Hall Buildings, Taihape, on Friday, the 19th day of September, 1913, at 8 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before the company showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of the hearing of any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and for the purpose of passing an extraordinary resolution disposing of the books, accounts, and documents of the company and the Liquidator.

NOTICE is hereby given that we, the undersigned, CHARLES McLEOD and ARCHIBALD LITTLE FALLS have this day dissolved by mutual consent the Partnership hitherto carried on by us at Awatoto under the style of “Charles McLeod & Co.” The business of the late Partnership has been taken over by the said ARCHIBALD LITTLE FALLS, and will be hereafter carried on by him under the style of “A. L. Falls and Company.” All debts due to the late Partnership must be paid to the said ARCHIBALD LITTLE FALLS, whose receipt alone will be a sufficient discharge for the same, and all liabilities due by the late Partnership will be discharged by the said ARCHIBALD LITTLE FALLS.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling it, the Balclutha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of two thousand six hundred pounds (£2,600) authorized to be raised by the borough, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing new and strengthening existing protective embankments to protect the borough from river floods, the said Balclutha Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-farthings in the pound on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Balclutha ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six (36) years, or until such loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the resolution passed at a meeting of the Balclutha Borough Council on the 24th day of July, 1913, making a special rate of one-farthing in the pound on the capital value, to provide for the payment of interest and sinking fund on a loan of £2,600, has been rescinded. I also certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a special meeting of the Balclutha Borough Council on the 4th day of September, 1913.
