Notice to Mariners No. 97 of 1913.
WAIRoa RIVER, HAWKE’S BAY, EAST COAST NORTH ISLAND.
—EXHIBITION OF LIGHT AT WAIRoa HEADS.

THE Wairoa Harbour Board have notified that on and
after 18th September, 1913, a fixed white light will be
exhibited from the flagstaff on the signal-staff at Wairoa
Heads near the entrance to Wairoa River.
The lamp is an 8 in. globe masthead light, at a height of
70 ft. above sea-level, unwatched, and should be visible for
about five miles, over an arc of 161° from 72° (N. 56° E.
magnetic) round by north to 271° (S. 75° W. magnetic).

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Education Reserves in the Town of Patea and Suburbs, Taranaki Land District, for Lease by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for leases of
the undermentioned reserves for terms of twenty-one
years, with perpetual right of renewal for further successive
terms of twenty-one years, will be received at this office up
to 4 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 8th October, 1913, under
the provisions of the Education Reserves Amendment Act,
1910, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

hedges, except on road frontage, are well grown, but require
trimming.

Weighted with £53, valuation for improvements consisting
of buildings valued at £50, and fencing at £3.
Situated on Victoria Street, about five minutes’ walk from
the Patea Post-office. Level land, most of which has been
used for a garden, but has now run to waste. The hedges
are in fair condition, but the fencing is not in good order.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

A half-year’s rent at rate offered, and lease and registration fees, £2 2s., must accompany each tender.

Term of lease is twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for successive terms of twenty-one years.

Rent of renewal lease to be fixed by arbitration. If lessee does not desire new lease at end of any term, land to be leased by auction. The incoming lessee to pay the value of the improvements, which is to be handed over to outgoing lessee, less any sums due to the Crown.

No transfer or sublease allowed without consent.

Lessee to cultivate and improve land, and keep it clear of weeds. Creeks, drains, and watercourses to be kept open.

Interest at rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be paid on rent in arrear.

Buildings on land to be kept in good order, repair, and condition.

No gravel to be removed from land without consent of the Land Board.

Lessee will not carry on any offensive trade.

Lessee to give notice to Land Board before making improvements.

Lessee to pay all rates, taxes, and assessments.
-
Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.
Envelopes should be marked on the outside “Tender for Reserve.”
The value of the improvements must be paid before the successful tenderers will be admitted into possession.
Form of lease may be perused and full particulars obtained at this office.
