  1. APPLICATIONS will be received up till noon on the 25th September, 1913, for the position of Assistant Meat Inspector, Department of Agriculture.

  2. Applications must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  3. Applicants must-

(a.) Have a good knowledge of the management of live-stock or a practical knowledge of the general work of the butcher's trade, both wholesale and retail.

(b.) Be between the ages of twenty-five and forty.

  1. Salary to commence £150, rising to £170 by two annual increments of £10. General Division.

  2. Appointment to be subject to the Public Service Act, 1912.

  1. APPLICATIONS, to be made on forms obtainable at this office, will be received up till noon on the 29th September, 1913, from officers of the Public Service, for the position of Deputy Registrar of Patents, Wellington.

  2. Applications must be forwarded through the Head of the Department, addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  3. The qualifications required for the position are-

(a.) A thorough training in clerical work.

(b.) A capacity for controlling and directing the work of others.

(c.) A general knowledge of mechanics, chemistry, and electricity.

(d.) Special knowledge of any one of such subjects.

(e.) Some acquaintance with patent law and practice.

  1. Absence of one or more of these qualifications will not necessarily render an applicant ineligible.

  2. The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.

  3. Position will be graded in Class IV, maximum £370 (Clerical Division).
