Paeroa is situated on the Thames – Te Aroha Railway, and is distant seventy miles from Auckland via Thames, and 130 miles by direct rail from Auckland.

Opening Lands in Southland Land District for Sale or Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Open land of fairly good quality. Access by good gravelled road, and distant one mile from Tokanui Railway-station.

Weighted with £126 10s. 6d., valuation for improvements consisting of fencing and surface sowing of about 100 acres.

The land is covered with bush of no commercial value, having been worked out by sawmill. It consists of dry, sweet ridges of good quality, but rocky in places. Situated about six miles and a half from Brown's Railway-station, the access being by good road to within 30 chains, the balance of which is now being formed.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Oteramika Hundred.

Open land, wet and peaty, with patches of manuka scrub. Distance from Kapuka Railway-station eight miles, from school five miles. Access from Kapuka by good gravelled road for three miles and a half, thence by formed and partly formed road.

Opening Lands in Otago Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

Situated on the east bank of the Clutha River, about three miles south of Dunkeld (or Beaumont) Township, from which the access is by means of level unmetalled dray-road. The land is flat river terrace of good sandy soil, with patches of rushes, and is apparently adapted for fruit culture. There is a school and post and telegraph office at Beaumont, which will be the terminus of the Lawrence–Roxburgh Railway.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Westland Land District for Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the fourteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
