Opening National Endowment Land in Otago Land District for Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Opening Settlement Lands in Southland Land District for Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND COUNTY.—LIND HURST HUNDRED.—EDENDALE SETTLEMENT.

Land all flat and in grass; soil first class. Situated on the main road between Gore and Mataura, from 12 to 28 chains from the Brydone Railway-station, school, and dairy factory.

Improvements which are included in the capital values of the sections are as follows: Section 154E—5¼ chains gorse fence on east boundary, £1 4s. 9d. Section 155E—15 chains gorse fence on east and south boundaries, £3 7s. 6d.

Improvements which are not included in the capital values, but which must be paid for separately, comprise: Section 154E—half-value of fence on south boundary, £2 15s.; half-value of fence on north boundary, £2 2s.: total, £4 17s. Section 155E—Half-cost of netting fence on west boundary, £4 10s.; half-cost fence on north boundary, £1 4s. 9d.: total, £5 14s. 9d.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eighth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the thirtieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District for other Land.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the said Act in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land which in his opinion is of approximately equal value:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,035 acres and 24 perches, more or less, situated in Blocks II and VI, Lyndon Survey District, and bounded northward by the road passing through Lots 51, 52, and 53 of Block II of the said district, 14934·8 links; south-eastward by the road leading to Jollies Pass, 17207·2 links; again south-eastward by Lot 79 of Block VI, Lyndon Survey District, 2318 links; south-westward by Lot 78 of the said block, 2673·2 links; again south-eastward by the last-mentioned lot, 611·7 links; westward by Lots 63 and 50 of Blocks II and VI, Lyndon Survey District, 11601·2 links; southward by Lots 50 and 49 of Block II, Lyndon Survey District, 8000 links; and westward by Lot 30 of the last-mentioned block, 1912·5 links: save and excepting thereout that portion coloured pink which is included in the above-described boundaries: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 24 acres 3 roods 16 perches, more or less, situated in Block II, Lyndon Survey District, and bounded north-eastward by Lot 11 of Block II, Lyndon Survey District, 3068·6 links; southward by Pastoral Run No. 17, 1769·9 links; and north-westward by the road lead
