EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESULT OF POLL.
In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.
I HEREBY notify that a poll was taken on the 30th day of July, 1913, upon the proposal to borrow £15,000 for the purchase of the ferry steamers “Duchess” and “Cobar,” and for establishing a municipal ferry service between Wellington and the eastern side of Wellington Harbour, and the following votes were polled: For the proposal, 276; against the proposal, 33.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

MOKAU HARBOUR BOARD.
RESOLUTION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the Mokau Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1912, the Mokau Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the said Harbour Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purpose—to rebuild the wharf at Mokau, and also to erect and construct all such approaches, sheds, cranes, and works in connection with such wharf as the Board may consider necessary for the safety, convenience, or reception of vessels loading or unloading at such wharf—the said Harbour Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-farthing (¼d.) in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property within the special-rating district as constituted under the above empowering Act, being all that part of the Mokau Harbour District comprising all that area in the Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts bounded towards the north by the Awakino River from the sea to the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 2, Block X, Awakino North Survey District, produced to the river; thence towards the north-east to and by the north-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 2 to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundary-line of same Section No. 2 and the south-eastern boundary-line of part Section No. 1 (scenic reserve), Block X, Awakino North Survey District, to Te Horo Totara; towards the north-west by north-west boundary of western portion Mangaawakino No. 4 to the Kaipaku Stream; thence towards the east generally by the Kaipaku and Mangaawakino Streams to the Mokau River; thence towards the north-east by the Mokau River to the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 13, Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1r Block; thence towards the east by the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 13 aforesaid to the south-eastern corner of the same section; thence by the south-western boundary of Section No. 15 and the Purupuru Road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 22, Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1r Block; thence by the eastern boundary of that section to the Mohakatino River; thence by the Mohakatino River to the sea; and thence towards the west by the Tasman Sea to the Awakino River, the point of commencement: and such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years or until the loan is fully paid off.
Passed at a meeting of the Mokau Harbour Board held on 9th August, 1913.
The common seal of the Mokau Harbour Board was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Mokau Harbour Board in the presence of—

HAWERA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE FOR NOLANS ROAD LOAN, £700.
WHEREAS the Hawera County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £700 for the purpose of constructing Nolans Road in the Hawera Riding of the Hawera County, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has provisionally approved the application for such loan at the rate of £3 15s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance such loan (namely, £700) at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £4 2s. 6d. per centum per annum:
Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Hawera County Council hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments of such loan (namely, £700), the said Hawera County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/32nd of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the special-rating area comprising the eastern portion of Section 103 (R. H. Nolan, containing 50 acres), part Sections 105 and 106 (E. E. Clarke, 71 a. 3 r. 29 p.; C. A. Clarke, 70 a. 3 r. 29 p.; and T. Wills, 157 a. 2 r. 0 p.), part Sections 106 and 107 (D. Kerrisk, 75 a. 0 r. 20 p.; Mrs. A. Fitzgerald, 81 a. 3 r. 20 p.; Mrs. R. L. Pease, western portion, 78 a. 0 r. 0 p.), the western portions of Sections 103 (50 a. 0 r. 0 p.), and 104 (10 a. 0 r. 0 p.): and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 5th day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years or until the loan is fully paid off.
The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at a special meeting of the Hawera County Council held on Saturday, the 5th July, 1913.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE OVER ORINI SPECIAL-RATING AREA.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of three thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the said Waikato County Council, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1910, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912, for the purpose of forming, metalling, and improving a road in the County of Waikato, commencing at the south-western corner of Allotment Number 74 of the Parish of Taupiri and running thence in a south-eastern direction to the northern corner of Allotment Number 3 of the Rewi Settlement, hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in that portion of the County of Waikato known as the Orini Special-rating Area, being all that area in the Parish of Taupiri bounded commencing at the south-west corner of Allotment 74 of the said parish; towards the west by the Mangawara Stream to the north-east corner of Allotment 451; thence towards the south by the said Allotment 451 and Run Number 3 of a subdivision into runs of a block of land in the said parish known as the Auckland University College Endowment; thence towards the south-west by the said Run Number 3; thence towards the west by Sections 8, 7, 6, and 5 of the said block of land; thence towards the north by Run Number 1 of the said block of land and a line across a road; thence towards the east by Section 1 of a block of land known as the Mangawara Plains Estate; thence towards the north by the said Section 1; thence towards the north by the said Section 1 and a line across a road; thence towards the north-west by Allotments 247 and 251; thence towards the east by a line across a road and by Allotments 202 and 203; thence towards the north by Allotments Numbers 203 and 208, a line across a road, and Allotment 207; thence towards the west by Allotments 207 and 206; thence towards the north by a line across a road and Allotments 307 and 308; thence towards the east by a line across a road, Allotment 324, a line across a road, and Allotment 331; thence towards the north by Allotment 331; thence towards the east by Allotment 342; thence towards the north by Allotment 342; thence towards the east by a line across a road and Allotment 467; thence towards the north-west by Allotments 467 and 439; thence towards the east by Allotment 478; thence towards the north by Allotments 478 and 478A; thence towards the east by the boundary of the Waikato and Piako Counties; thence towards the south-east by the north-west boundary of a
