Land taken for the Purposes of a Recreation-ground in the Borough of Lyttelton.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work, to wit, for the purposes of a recreation-ground in the Borough of Lyttelton:

And whereas the Lyttelton Borough Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map (in duplicate), and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said recreation-ground as from the date hereinafter specified, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Lyttelton; and I do also hereby direct that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Stopping a Government Road in Block XI, Newcastle Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of a road:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the road described in the Schedule hereto.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway—namely, the Pongakawa Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the further portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway from Paengaroa to the left bank of the Pongakawa River (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1911: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Section 22, Block VIII, Maketu Survey District, marked 60 miles, which point is also the terminating point of the railway described in a Proclamation dated the 28th day of June, 1911, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 56, page 2142, of the 6th day of the following month; proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally for a distance of 5 miles 35⅔ chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c., viz.: Part Section 22, Sections 17, 10, 9, 11, and 12, Block VIII, Maketu Survey District; Sections 1, 2, 26, 27, 28, 22, 14, 15, and 21, Block II, Waihi South Survey District, and terminating at a point in the said Section 21, Block II, Waihi South Survey District, on the left bank of the Pongakawa River, marked 65 miles 35⅔ chains, the said point being distant approximately 64⅔ chains south of the northern boundary and 204 chains east of the western boundary of the said Block II, Waihi South Survey District, including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Auckland Land District; as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 33983, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.
