HIKURANGI TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Hikurangi Town Board held at 7 p.m. on the 1st day of August, 1913, the following resolution was passed:—

“That, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Hikurangi Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the loan of £7,000, authorized to be raised by the said Town Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purposes of constructing and establishing waterworks for the Town District of Hikurangi, the said Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence three-farthings (2¾d.) in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Hikurangi Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, except the first year of such loan period, when the rate shall be payable in one sum on the first day of October, 1913, and thereafter on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Seconded by Commissioner Millington, and carried.

The common seal of the Hikurangi Town Board was hereto affixed at the offices of and pursuant to a resolution of the Hikurangi Town Board in the presence of—

ONE-TREE HILL ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE TO COVER INCREASED PAYMENTS IN RESPECT OF PART OF LOAN.

WHEREAS the One-tree Hill Road Board has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £19,470 for the purpose of drainage, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of £4 17s. 6d. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan (namely, £4,470) at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £5 2s. 10d. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the One-tree Hill Road Board hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of part of such loan (namely, £4,470), the said One-tree Hill Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/5th of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the special-rating area as defined by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1908, comprising that portion of the One-tree Hill Road District commencing at the north-east boundary of Allotment 1 of 23 of Section 11, the Great South Road, to the crossing of that road and Greenlane; again towards the south-east by Greenlane aforesaid to the north-western boundary-line of Allotment No. 10, Section 12, Suburbs of Auckland, by that allotment and Allotments Nos. 13, 11, and 12 of the same section to Raglan Street to Manukau Road; thence along the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Manukau Road to the starting-point. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution duly passed by the One-tree Hill Road Board at a special meeting of the said Board held on the 1st day of August, 1913.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto carried on at their premises in Hastings Street, Napier, by Miss MARIA GRACE MAIN and Miss EMMA CHANNING CHRISTIE, under the firm of “Main & Christie,” of the French Glove House, is dissolved as from the 1st day of August, 1913. All accounts owing to the firm are to be paid to Miss MAIN, who will carry on the business as heretofore at the French Glove House, and all debts owing by the firm will be paid by her.
