No change has been made in the characteristics of the lights or fog-signals, but the general appearance of Light-vessel No. 83 has been changed.
The vessel will hereafter show only the name “Blunts” on each side, omitting the word “Reef” from the sides and the number “83” from each bow and quarter.
Approx. position : Lat. 40° 26′ 9″ N., long. 124° 30′ 14″ W.
SAN FRANCISCO BAY.—SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO LIGHT MOVED.—On 22nd May, 1913, South San Francisco light, San Bruno Channel, San Francisco Bay, was moved and re-established 20 ft. above the water on a triangular skeleton pipe structure, with a red lantern box erected in 2⅜ fathoms of water about 12 yards eastward of the old structure, which was removed.
ARGENTINA.
PLATA RIVER.—PUNTO INDIO LIGHT-VESSEL.—FOG-SIGNAL TEMPORARILY CHANGED.—The Argentine Government has given notice that the fog-signal on Punto Indio Light-vessel, Plata River, Argentina, has been temporarily changed to a bell sounding 1 group of 3 strokes every 20 seconds.

BUENOS AIRES.—HARBOUR ENTRANCE.—WRECK.—LIGHT-BUOY ESTABLISHED.—The Argentine Government has given notice that the wreck of the pontoon “Coglan,” destroyed by fire on 10th April, 1913, lies sunk in the southern channel, entrance to Buenos Aires Harbour, Plata River.
A light-buoy has been established to mark the wreck.

OREGON.
COLUMBIA RIVER.—UPPER GAUGE PILE LIGHT CHANGED IN POSITION.—On 9th April, 1913, Upper Gauge pile light, Columbia River, was moved and re-established 18 ft. above the water, on the following bearings—
Portuguese Point, tangent, 14°.
Tongue Point, left tangent, 108°.
U.S. Buoy Depot Wharf, right tangent, 144° 30′.
BRITISH COLUMBIA.
STRAIT OF GEORGIA.—BURRARD INLET.—ENGLISH BAY.—FALSE CREEK.—LIGHTS MOVED.—The Canadian Government has given notice that the 2 fixed red electric lights shown from a cross-arm on a pole at the southern end of Nicola Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, have been moved about 225 ft. out from the shore-line at high-water mark and re-established 26 ft. above the water on a pole set on a white pyramidal concrete base, square in plan. The lights are shown from two lanterns, one suspended at each end of a cross-arm at the top of a pole, and are visible 7 miles from all points of approach by water.

FIRST NARROWS.—CHANGE IN LIGHT AND FOG-SIGNAL.—Information has been received from the Agent of the Department of Marine and Fisheries at Victoria, British Columbia, that the light-beacon on the northern shore of the western entrance of the First Narrows, Burrard Inlet, British Columbia, has been replaced by an intermittent white light every 30 seconds—thus, light 19 seconds, eclipsed 2½ seconds ; light 6 seconds, eclipsed 2½ seconds—exhibited from a square wooden building painted white.
A diaphone fog-alarm, which will sound 1 blast every 15 seconds—thus, blast 2 seconds, silent interval 13 seconds—has been established at the station.
The horn points to the westward.

NORTH ARM.—TURTLE HEAD.—BUOY ESTABLISHED.—A red wooden spar buoy has been established in 4½ fathoms of water 150 ft. 205° from the rock that dries 5 ft., located southward of Turtle Head, North Arm, Burrard Inlet, British Columbia.
Approximate position on H.O. Chart No. 1768 ; Latitude 49° 18′ 39″ N., longitude 122° 55′ 25″ W.
CHINA.
EAST COAST.—CHUSAN ARCHIPELAGO.—TONGTING LIGHT-STATION.—AUDIBILITY OF FOG-SIGNAL.—The fog-signal sounded at Tongting Light-station, Chusan Archipelago, east coast of China, is audible only to the eastward of the island between the bearings 180° to 0° through west.
Approx. position : Lat. 29° 51′ 53″ N., long. 122° 35′ 24″ E.
NORTH SADDLE ISLAND LIGHT-STATION.—SUBMARINE BELL DISCONTINUED.—The submarine bell located 1,600 yards 349° from North Saddle Island Light-station, east coast of China, has been permanently discontinued.
Approximate position of lighthouse : Latitude 30° 51′ 41″ N., longitude 122° 39′ 50″ E.
AFRICA.
EAST COAST.—BAZARUTO ISLANDS.—CAPE BAZARUTO.—LIGHT PERMANENTLY ESTABLISHED.—The Portuguese Government has given notice that the flashing white light showing 1 group of 3 flashes every 30 seconds is now permanently established on Cape Bazaruto, Bazaruto Islands, east coast of Africa.
The light is shown 65 ft. above the ground from a metal tower 53 ft. high on a keeper’s dwelling, erected on a sand hill 314 ft. high, and is visible 30 miles over an arc of 200° from 177° to 17°.
Approx. position : Lat. 21° 31′ 57″ S., long. 35° 29′ 6″ E.
DELAGOA BAY.—LECH (RIBEIRO) REEF.—INTENDED LIGHT.—The Portuguese Government has given notice that on 15th March, 1913, a fixed white light with a red sector would be established on Lech (Ribeiro) Reef, Delagoa Bay, east coast of Africa. The red sector shows over an arc of 106° covering Faun Shoals and a portion of Chefina Grande Bank.
Approx. position : Lat. 25° 54′ 18″ S., long. 32° 48′ 36″ E.
