Award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the award of a Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration to
Captain JOHN MCNAB, Retired List, late Unattached List (b),
he having a total rank and commissioned service to the 19th June, 1913, entitling him thereto of twenty years one hundred and sixty-three days.

Alteration of the Designation of the New Zealand Army Motor Reserve of Officers.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to abolish, in accordance with section 6 (a) of the Defence Act, 1908, the existing designation of “The New Zealand Army Motor Reserve of Officers,” and to approve of its being re-designated “The New Zealand Forces Motor Reserve of Officers.”

Special Order made by the Waimairi County Council altering Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Waimairi County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves by way of a special order as follows:—
The present division of the County of Waimairi into eleven ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into ten ridings, to be called respectively Styx Riding, Belfast Riding, Marshland Riding, Avon Riding, Papanui Riding, Harewood Riding, Wairarapa Riding, Fendalton Riding, Middleton Riding, and Riccarton Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto. And the boundaries of the said ridings as herein shall constitute the boundaries of the Waimairi County.
The said Waimairi County Council shall consist of ten members, who shall be elected as follows: The electors of each riding shall elect one Councillor.
The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the 22nd day of July 1913.
SCHEDULE.
Styx Riding.
Commencing at a point on the north-west boundary of the Wairarapa County being the intersection of a line in continuation of the centre of Lang’s Ford Road with the said boundary; thence north-east and easterly along the boundary of the said Waimairi County to the ocean; thence southerly along the ocean to the boundary of the Borough of New Brighton; thence westerly and southerly along the boundaries of the New Brighton Borough to the River Avon; thence westerly along the River Avon to its intersection with a line in continuation of the centre of Briggs Road; thence north-westerly along the centre of Briggs Road to its intersection with a line in continuation of the western boundary of R.S. 1053; thence northerly and north-easterly along the said western boundary of R.S. 1053 and the centre-line of Banks and Reeves Roads to the centre of Bottle Lake Road; thence northerly and westerly along the centre of Bottle Lake Road and Prestons Road to the centre of the North Road; thence northerly along the centre of the North Road to its intersection with the centre-line of the River Styx; thence easterly and north-easterly generally along the centre of the River Styx to its intersection with the centre of Kaputone Creek; thence northerly and westerly along the centre of the Kaputone Creek to its intersection with a line in continuation of the south-west boundary of R.S. 419; thence north-westerly along the south-west boundary of R.S. 419 and a line in continuation thereof to the centre of the North Road; thence south-westerly north-easterly, and north-westerly by the centres of the North Road and Lang’s Ford Road and a line in continuation thereof to the starting-point.
Belfast Riding.
Commencing at a point on the north-west boundary of the Waimairi County, being the starting-point of the River Styx Riding; thence generally south-easterly along the south-west boundary of the last-mentioned riding to the centre of the River Styx; thence westerly along the centre of the said River Styx to the centre of the North Road; thence north-easterly along the centre of the North Road to its intersection with the centre-line of Englefields Road; thence north-westerly along the centre of Englefields Road to the north-west boundary of R.S. 331; thence north-easterly along the said north-west boundary of R.S. 331 and a line in continuation thereof to centre of Tisch’s Road; thence westerly along the centre of Tisch’s Road to its intersection with the centre-line of the road forming the western boundary of R.S. 848; thence north-westerly along the centre-line of the last-mentioned road to its intersection with a line in continuation of the eastern boundary of R.S. 848; thence northerly by a line in continuation of the said eastern boundary of R.S. 848 to its intersection with the north-west boundary of the Waimairi County; thence north-easterly along the said north-west boundary of the Waimairi County to the starting-point.
Papanui Riding.
Bounded by a line at the junction of the centre of Winters Road with the centre of North Road; thence by a line in continuation of the centre of Winters Road to the north-east boundary of land shown on deposit plan No. 102; thence north-westerly along the north-east and northern boundaries of land shown on deposit plans Nos. 102 and 838 to the railway-line; thence southerly along the railway-line to the centre of Langdon’s Road; thence north-westerly along the centre of Langdon’s Road to a point opposite the north-west corner of land shown on deposit plan No. 587; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of land shown on deposit plan No. 587 to the centre of Harewood Road; thence south-easterly along the centre of Harewood Road to a point opposite to the north-west corner of Lot 8 shown on deposit plan No. 2075; thence south-westerly along the north-west boundaries of land shown on deposit plans Nos. 2075 and 1656 to the stream fronting the south-west boundary of Lot 3 shown on deposit plan No. 1656; thence south-easterly along the last-mentioned stream and the centre of Park Road to Blighs Road; thence south-westerly along Blighs Road to the south-western boundary of R.S. 135; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of R.S. 135 to Normans Road, being the boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence generally north-easterly along the boundary of the City of Christchurch to the south-eastern corner of R.S. 276, being the western boundary of the Marshland Riding; thence northerly generally, westerly and northerly along the boundary of the Marshland Riding, hereinbefore described, to the place of commencement.
Harewood Riding.
Bounded by a line commencing at the junction of Russley Road and Wairarapa Road; thence northerly along the western boundary of the Waimairi County to the north-western corner of that county; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said county to Belfast Riding hereinbefore described; thence generally southerly along the western boundaries of Belfast, Styx, Marshland, and Papanui Ridings, hereinbefore described, to the stream forming the southern boundary of Lot 3 shown on deposit plan No. 1656; thence south-westerly along the north-west boundary of land shown on the said deposit plan to the south-west boundary of R.S. 323; thence north-westerly along the south-west boundary of R.S.s 323 and 330 to the south-west corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a straight line to the junction of Wairarapa and Woolridge Roads; thence along the Wairarapa Road to the place of commencement.
Fendalton Riding.
Bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the Waimairi Stream with Clyde Road; thence northerly and westerly along Clyde Road and Jeffreys Road to the north-west corner of R.S. 299, being the boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence easterly generally along the boundary of the City of Christchurch to the centre of the River Avon; thence westerly generally along the centre of the River Avon, Wairarapa and Waimairi Streams, to the place of commencement.
