THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

And whereas the Inspector-General of Hospitals has recommended that the following districts, situate within the Cook Hospital District, namely,—

COOK COUNTY,
WAIKORU COUNTY,

should be combined for such of the purposes of the Public Health Act, 1908, as are hereinafter mentioned, and the local authorities concerned have consented thereto :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities above recited, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby combine the above-mentioned districts for such of the purposes of the Public Health Act as are mentioned in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby declare that for these purposes the Cook Hospital and Charitable Aid Board shall be deemed to be the local authority within the combined districts.

SCHEDULE.

SECTIONS of the Public Health Act, 1908, containing the purposes of that Act for which the said districts are combined, and for which purposes the Cook Hospital and Charitable Aid Board is to be deemed the local authority :—

Mortuaries or morgues .. Sections 46, 49, and 50.

Privies, ashpits, and drains Sections 53, 55, and 56 (to apply only to the districts of those local authorities in which no sewerage systems exist).

Scavenging and cleaning .. Sections 61 (1), 61 (2) (to apply only when so recommended by the District Health Officer), and 63.

Nuisances .. Sections 70–75 and 77–84.

Offensive trades .. Sections 85–88.

Inspection of food .. Section 89.

Insanitary buildings .. Sections 90 and 91.

Miscellaneous provisions .. Sections 94, 98, 100, 104, 106, 107, 109, 112 ; 108 only in so far as it relates to making by-laws for the purposes specified in the aforementioned sections.

Declaring Ross Road, in the Whakatane County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of January, 1913.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road situated in the Whakatane County, Auckland Land District, and known as Ross Road, commencing at its junction with the Hereperu North and Hereperu South Roads at the south-western corner of Section 3, Blocks IV, Rotoma, XII, Waihi South, II, Awa-o-te-atua, and I, Rangitaiki Upper Survey Districts, and running in a north-easterly direction generally through the said Section 3, Section 2, Block XII, Waihi South, and Block II, Awa-o-te-Atua Survey Districts ; Run 15, Blocks I and II, Awa-o-te-Atua Survey District ; Sections 166, 169, 158, 157, and again through Section 158, Block II, Awa-o-te-Atua Survey District, to its junction with the Matata to Tamurenu Junction Road, on the eastern boundary of the said Section 158, being a distance of four miles, more or less : as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32942, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured yellow.

Declaring Motu Falls Bridge to Porangahau Saddle Road, in the Opotiki County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of January, 1913.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of road in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Opotiki County, known as Motu Falls Bridge to Porangahau Saddle Road, commencing at the Motu Falls Bridge and running in an easterly and thence north-westerly direction generally between Sections 7, 6, and 8, and 9 and 10, Block IV, Urutawa East Survey District ; and Sections 8, Block IV, and 2, Block II ; and Sections 1, Block II, Urutawa East Survey District, and 3 and Whitikau No. 2b, Block VIII, Urutawa Survey District, to the Porangahau Saddle, situated between the aforesaid Sections 2 and Whitikau No. 2b, being a distance of nine miles : as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32932, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

Disposal of Special-request Correspondence.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of January, 1913.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and ten, regulations were made under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, prescribing, inter alia, the procedure to be observed in the disposal of special-request correspondence : And whereas it is expedient to amend and add to such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the regulations numbered 1 and 2 under the heading “Special-request Correspondence” in the Schedule to the above-recited Order in Council, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto ; and doth further order that the said revocation shall take effect and the regulations hereby made shall come into force on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and shall be read together with and form part of the original regulations.

SPECIAL-REQUEST CORRESPONDENCE.

  1. UNDELIVERED inland letters and other articles, except parcels, bearing the full name and address of the sender printed or written on the outside are returned direct and unopened by the Chief Postmasters. Such articles having a request on the address side of the covers of the following purport : “If not delivered return to …” are disposed of in the same way. A special request that letters and other articles posted in New Zealand, if not delivered within a stated period, be redirected to an address outside New Zealand will not be complied with.
