Secondary Education Endowment in Block I, Invercargill Hundred, Southland Land District, set apart as an Addition to a Site for a Public School.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserves or endowments:

And whereas the Land Board of the Southland Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the secondary education endowment described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as an addition to a site for a public school, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the secondary education endowment described in the Schedule hereto as an addition to a site for a public school.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 22 perches, more or less, being part of Section 23, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-east corner of Lot 3, Land Transfer plan No. 696; thence due south for a distance of 400 links, thence at a bearing of 269° 58′ 30″ for a distance of 48 links; thence due south for a distance of 524 links, thence at a bearing of 89° 58′ 30″ for a distance of 198 links; thence due north for a distance of 924 links; thence westerly along the south side of Herbert Street, for a distance of 150 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/524A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Notifying Lands in Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

These sections comprise an extension to the south of Raetihi Township, which is situated on the main road between Pipiriki and Ohakune Townships, about eight miles from the latter. Raetihi is the proposed terminus of a branch railway-line from Ohakune now under construction, and is the centre of an extensive district, with which it is connected by roads in all directions.

Most of the sections under offer are flat, and a good many have mixed standing bush, from which the milling-timber has been removed. The soil throughout is good. The elevation is about 1,700 ft. above sea-level.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease;
