CAMBRIDGE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

COPY OF RESOLUTION re LOAN OF £3,800 FOR GAS, WATER, AND DRAINAGE EXTENSIONS.

COUNCILLOR Lewis proposed, Councillor Potts seconded, That, in view of the provisions of section 2 of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912, and acting under the powers and provisions of section 3 of the said Act, the Cambridge Borough Council, for the purpose of providing for the increased charges required to be paid on the final £1,000 of the £3,800 loan for gas, water, and drainage extensions, and ten per cent. margin thereon, hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of one penny in the pound on the annual rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Cambridge: such special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be payable at same date and for a similar term, and to be in addition to the special rate of threepence and eleven-sixteenths of one penny in the pound which was struck as security for the said loan on the 24th day of November, 1911.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of resolution passed by the Cambridge Borough Council at a properly constituted special meeting of the Council held on the 7th day of May, 1913, a full Council being present.

MARTINBOROUGH TOWN BOARD.

NOTICE OF RESULT ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, we hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Martinborough Town District was taken on the 4th day of June, 1913, on the proposal to raise a loan of £4,500 for the purpose of installing electric light within the town district.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 84. The number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 10.

We therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

FRIENDLY SOCIETIES ACT, 1909.

NOTICE OF ORDER DISPENSING WITH CONSENTS OR CONDITIONS FOR AMALGAMATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the North Westland District of the New Zealand Branch of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society, Register No. 312 (13), whose registered office is at Bridge Street, Reefton, desires to amalgamate with the Westland District of the New Zealand Branch of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society, Register No. 312 (9); and that on the 12th day of July, 1913, the trustees of the first-named society intend to apply to the Registrar that the following consents and conditions prescribed by the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, for an amalgamation may be dispensed with, namely :—

(1.) The assent of five-sixths in value of members: as the expense and inconvenience of carrying out such condition are unnecessary and are not justified by the circumstances.

(2.) The written consent of every person for the time being receiving or entitled to any relief, annuity, or other benefits: as the rights of such persons are not affected.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Westland District of the New Zealand Branch of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society, Register No. 312 (9), whose registered office is at Greymouth, desires to amalgamate with the North Westland District of the New Zealand Branch of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society, Register No. 312 (13); and that on the 12th day of July, 1913, the trustees of the first-named society intend to apply to the Registrar that the following consents and conditions prescribed by the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, for an amalgamation may be dispensed with, namely :—

ARAMOHO SYNDICATE (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that this company, by special resolution passed at a meeting held on 15th May, 1913, and confirmed at a meeting held on the 6th June, 1913, it was resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that Mr. C. P. Brown be appointed Liquidator to carry out a scheme of subdivision.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Smart Bros. Timber Company (Limited) held at the registered office of the company, High Street, Blenheim, on the 30th day of May, 1913, the following extraordinary resolution was submitted and carried, namely :—

“Whereas it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that, by reason of its liabilities, it cannot continue its business, it is advisable that the company be wound up, it is hereby resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

WAVERLEY TOWN DISTRICT.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers was taken on the 28th day of May, 1913, upon the proposal of the Waverley Town Board to raise a special loan of £13,400, under the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the following purposes :—

(a.) To acquire site, purchase of land and buildings (including the property known as “Dickie’s Flourmill,” with machinery therein and thereon), water-rights, rights of way and easements, plant, machinery, for the installation of an electric lighting and power undertaking, and motive power and other uses and purposes, within and without the Township of Waverley, and to construct waterworks (including water-tower) within the meaning of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and its amendments (including reticulation), within and without the Township of Waverley, engineering and contingencies (including compensation, if any, for land injuriously affected).—£12,200.

(b.) To construct and provide drainage and sewerage and septic-tank system within and without the Township of
