In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Highlands Estate Company (Limited).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the above-named company duly convened and held at Auckland on the 21st day of May, 1913, it was resolved :—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that same be wound up voluntarily.”
And at the same meeting A. M. PICKFORD, Accountant, of Auckland, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

PALMERSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE OF ONE-QUARTER OF A PENNY IN THE POUND, PASSED BY THE PALMERSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL ON THE 21ST DAY OF MAY, 1913.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Palmerston Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of one thousand five hundred pounds (£1,500) authorized to be raised by the said Palmerston Borough, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of partly paying the liability lawfully incurred in the erection of the Coronation Hall and Municipal Offices, the said Palmerston Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-quarter of a penny in the pound sterling on the capital value of all rateable properties within the Borough of Palmerston ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years (36½), or until the loan is fully paid off.
