Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Soil fair to good, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Distant five miles and a half from Kopaki Railway-station by surveyed road and by good pack-track.

There is also an inferior access by horse-track up the Mokau River, about three miles.

Undulating land; about 40 acres heavy mixed forest comprising rimu, kahikatea, rata, puriri, taraire, towai, tanekaha, kohokohe, manuka, &c., with thick undergrowth of kohutuhutu, mahoe, cedar, punga, nikau, kiekie, supplejack, ferns, &c.; about 170 acres burnt forest; balance of section fern and scrub. Soil of fair quality, sandy clay and pipeclay, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Situated ten miles from Awanui—four miles by cart-road, balance unformed wagon-road.
HOKIANGA COUNTY.—OMANAIA PARISH.

Soil a strong clay of fair quality, on sandstone formation; watered by small stream. Distant four miles from Rawene by tidal water, or about twelve miles by rough bridle-track partly formed.

Altitude, 100 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Level to undulating and hilly land; covered with manuka, fern, and rushes, with a little straggling forest in gullies. Soil of inferior quality, strong clay and pipeclay, on clay subsoil; well watered by stream. Distant eight miles from Kaitaia, four miles of which is by metalled coach-road, balance formed sledge or bridle-track.

Altitude, 500 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly fern country. Soil an inferior clay, on clay subsoil; no water on section. Distant twenty miles from Kohukohu, eighteen miles of which is formed cart-road to Broadwood Post-office, thence a mile and a half by formed 10 ft. road and half a mile unopened road.

Altitude, 100 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating fern and manuka country, recently swept by fire. Soil inferior clay, on slate formation; fairly well watered by swampy springs. Distant four miles from Mangawai by cart-road.
