And whereas the said Council has agreed to grant such license for a term of ten years from the same date as that on which the rights in respect of so much of the said siding as is on railway land are granted by the Government Railways Department:

And whereas such siding or tramway is to be used by the said company in connection with and for the purposes of the business of such company, and such business is not the carriage of passengers or goods for hire:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the aforesaid term.

Boundaries of Borough of Waitara altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1913.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS a petition has been presented to the Governor, under section one hundred and eighteen of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, praying the Governor to alter the boundaries of the Borough of Waitara by excluding therefrom the areas mentioned in the said petition and including them in the Counties of Clifton and Taranaki: And whereas a notice showing the proposed alteration in boundaries of the said borough has been gazetted and publicly notified, and objections in writing against such alteration were lodged by the Waitara Borough Council: And whereas such objections have been duly considered, and it is deemed expedient to exclude from the said borough parts only of the areas mentioned in the said petition and notice:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Waitara and included in the Waitara West Riding of the County of Taranaki, and that the area described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the said Borough of Waitara and included in the Waihi Riding of the County of Clifton, and that the area described in the Third Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the said Borough of Waitara and included in the Tikorangi Riding of the County of Clifton.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN WAITARA WEST RIDING OF COUNTY OF TARANAKI.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north-west by the south-eastern side of Brown Road from the westernmost corner of Section No. 2, Waitara West District, Block I, Paritutu Survey District, to Ranfurly Street; thence towards the east generally by the south-western side of Ranfurly Street to the northernmost corner of Section No. 9; thence by Sections Nos. 9 and 12 to and across Johnston Street and by the south-western side of that street to Raleigh Street; thence across Raleigh Street and by the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 22 and 27 to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 21 and 20 to Waitara Street; thence towards the south-west by the north-eastern side of Waitara Street to the westernmost corner of Section No. 5; and thence towards the west generally by the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 5 and 6, the abutment of Johnston Street and the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 4, 3, and 2, Waitara West District aforesaid, to the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN WAIHI RIDING OF COUNTY OF CLIFTON.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north-west by the Section No. 2, Waitara East District, Block I, Waitara Survey District, from the north-western side of High Street East to the westernmost corner of Section No. 4; thence towards the north-east and north-west by the said Section No. 4 to Elliot Street; thence again towards the north-east by the south-western side of Elliot Street to the northernmost corner of Section No. 9; thence towards the south generally by the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 7 and 5 to Block No. 51, Town of Waitara East; and thence towards the south-west by the said Block No. 51, the abutment of Richmond Street, Block No. 44, the abutment of Carey Street, Block No. 35, and the abutment of High Street East to the place of commencement.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN TIKORANGI RIDING OF COUNTY OF CLIFTON.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 19, Waitara East District, Block V, Waitara Survey District, from the Manukorihi Road to Joll Street; thence to and along the middle of Joll Street to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section No. 26; thence towards the north-east by a line to and by the south-western boundary of the said Section No. 26 to its southernmost corner; thence again towards the north-west by the last-mentioned section to and across Princess Street to the westernmost corner of Section No. 32; thence by the north-western boundary of that section to Section No. 33; thence towards the east by the said Section No. 33 to Waipapa Road; thence towards the south-east by the north-western side of the said Waipapa Road, Section No. 48, Waitara East District, and the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned section produced to the right bank of the Waitara River; thence again towards the west generally by the right bank of that river to a point opposite the angle in the Manukorihi Road on the western boundary of Section No. 24, Waitara East District; thence to and across the said Manukorihi Road and by its eastern side to Section No. 19, the place of commencement.

Declaring Portions of Roads in the Douglas Settlement, Waimate County, to be County Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1913.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county roads.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Canterbury Land District, Waimate County, Douglas Settlement, known as Willow Bridge Road, commencing at its junction with Serpentine Valley Road and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction adjoining Section 18; thence in a north-westerly direction generally adjoining Sections 3 and 2, all in Block IV, Elephant Hill Survey District; and terminating at the south-western corner of the said Section 2, Block IV, Elephant Hill Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 20 chains, more or less, shown coloured green on the plan mentioned below.

Also all that portion of road in the said land district, county, and settlement commencing at its junction with Willow Bridge Road at the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Block IV, Elephant Hill Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction adjoining the said Section 2, and terminating across the Serpentine Creek, being a distance of 9 chains, more or less, shown coloured green on the plan mentioned below.

Also all that road in the said land district, county, and settlement, known as Ritchie Road, commencing at its junction with Serpentine Valley Road, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction generally adjoining Sections 24, 28, 33, and 34, Block IV, Elephant Hill Survey District; and thence in a south-easterly direction adjoining Section 2, Block III, Elephant Hill Survey District, and terminating at its junction with Elephant Hill Road, being a distance of 1 mile 60 chains, more or less, shown coloured brown on the plan mentioned below.
