Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Runanga and County of Grey.


Department of Internal Affairs,

Wellington, 16th January, 1913.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Borough of Runanga are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the said borough being a new borough constituted by Proclamation dated the 28th day of March, 1912, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and published in Gazette No. 32, of the 4th day of April, 1912. And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the County of Grey affected by the constitution of the Borough of Runanga, made by the said Proclamation dated the 28th day of March, 1912, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF RUNANGA.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District bounded towards the north generally by the left bank of Seven-mile Creek from a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section No. 4, Block III, Cobden Survey District, to a point bearing 25° from Trig. Station A ; thence towards the south-east by a right line through Trig. Station A to the right bank of Coal Creek, and thence by the right bank of Coal Creek to a point in line with the western boundary of Section No. 224, Block III aforesaid ; thence towards the west generally by a right line to the south-western corner of the said Section No. 224 ; thence by the western boundary of that section and the eastern side of the Cobden–Seven-mile Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 9, Block II, Cobden Survey District ; thence across the said road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 9 aforesaid, and by the northern boundary of that section for a distance of 608 links ; thence by a line bearing 14° 49′, distance 1995 links, along the western side of a public road to the southern boundary of Section No. 11, Block II aforesaid ; thence by the southern boundary of the said Section No. 11 and that boundary produced across the Cobden–Seven-mile Road ; thence by the eastern side of that road to the north-western boundary of Section No. 4, Block III aforesaid ; and thence towards the north-west by the north-western boundary of the said Section No. 4 and that boundary produced to the left bank of Seven-mile Creek, the place of commencement.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF GREY.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by a line along the middle of the Porarari River from the ocean to a point distant about 11500 links measured along the middle of the said river in a south-easterly direction from its intersection with the northern boundary of Waiwhero Survey District ; thence by a line to and along the summit of the leading spur to the summit of the Paparoa Range ; thence by the summit of that range to Mount Faraday ; thence by the Inangahua County as described in the Second Schedule of the Murchison County Act, 1908, to Mount Haast ; thence by the Murchison County as described in the First Schedule of the aforesaid Act to the summit of the Spencer Mountains ; thence towards the south-east by the Amuri County to the saddle between the Hurunui and the Taramakau Rivers ; thence towards the south generally by a line to and along the left bank of the Taramakau River to the ocean ; and thence towards the north-west by the ocean to the place of commencement : excepting the Boroughs of Greymouth, Brunner, and Runanga, which are within the above-described boundaries.
