Formation of “The New Zealand Army Motor Reserve of Officers.”

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve, under sections 5 (f) and 6 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909, of the formation of “The New Zealand Army Motor Reserve of Officers.” The establishment of officers will be as follows:—

Staff Officer (1).
Majors (16).
Captains (32).
Lieutenants (128).

THE following resolution, made by the Hungahunga Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912.

HUNGAHUNGA DRAINAGE BOARD.
Resolution making Special Rate.
WHEREAS the Hungahunga Drainage Board has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £4,500 for the purpose of cleansing, deepening, and widening existing watercourses, drains, and outfalls, and to make and construct new watercourses, drains, and outfalls, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has provisionally approved the application for such loan at the rate of £5 1s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance such loan (namely, £4,500) at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £5 6s. 6d. per centum per annum:
Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Hungahunga Drainage Board hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such loan (namely, £4,500), the said Hungahunga Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/120 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Hungahunga Drainage District, comprising all the lands within the gazetted extended boundaries thereof as contained in the New Zealand Gazette No. 19, page 845, 12th March, 1908; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Hungahunga Drainage Board held on the 5th day of April, 1913.

Resolution made by the Council of the Borough of Northcote.

THE following resolution, made by the Northcote Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912.

BOROUGH OF NORTHCOTE
Resolution making Special Rate on 10 per Cent. Additional Loan of £200 for Completion of General Road Improvements.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Northcote Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £200, authorized to be raised by the Northcote Borough Council, under the provisions of section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1908 (being 10 per centum on the original loan of £2,000, that amount having been found insufficient to complete the works), the said Northcote Borough Council, hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value, on the basis of the annual value, of all property in the Borough of Northcote; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Northcote Borough Council properly constituted and called for the purpose on the 15th day of April, 1913.

THE following resolution, made by the Wairoa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Loan of £760.—Ruakituri Valley No. 2 Special-rating District.—Resolution.
WHEREAS the Wairoa County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow the sum of £760 for the purpose of forming the Ruakituri Valley Road, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan (namely, £380) at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £4 2s. 6d. per centum per annum:
Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such part of such loan, the said Wairoa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Ruakituri Valley No. 2 Special-rating District, comprising the area as follows: Commencing at the confluence of the Mangarewarewa Stream with the Ruakituri River; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Small Grazing-runs Nos. 28 and 82 to the north-easternmost corner of Small Grazing-run No. 81; thence southerly, easterly, and northerly along the western and southern boundaries of Small Grazing-run No. 82 and the southern and eastern boundaries of Small Grazing-run No. 28 to the Ruakituri River; thence following up the left bank of that river to the south-westernmost corner of Section 1, Block XX, Tuahu Survey District; thence northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of that section and the northern boundaries of Sections 2 and 3, Block XX, Tuahu Survey District, to the north-easternmost corner of Section 3, Block XX, Tuahu Survey District; thence northerly to the south-easternmost corner of Section 2, Block VIII, Tuahu Survey District; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of that section to the Gisborne–Waikaremoana Road; thence westerly along that road to the Ruakituri River, and following down the right bank of that river to the place of commencement, being Small Grazing-runs Nos. 28, 82, 85, and 86, all in the Tuahu Survey District. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Wairoa County Council held on the 11th day of April, 1913.
