Undulating and hilly country, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising rata, rimu, towai, miro, maire, toro, &c., with dense undergrowth of kohutuhutu, hangehange, raurekau, karamu, punga, kiekie, supplejack, toikiwi, &c. Soil of inferior quality, clayey loam and sandy clay, on sandstone formation; well watered by small streams. Situated twenty miles from Kaihu Railway-station or eighteen miles and a half from Taheke by formed wagon-road in each case.

Altitude, 1,500 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level. Undulating and hilly land; 40 acres on Section 25 has been felled, but is now overgrown, remainder heavy mixed forest comprising rata, rimu, towai, miro, maire, toro, &c., with dense undergrowth of kohutuhutu, hangehange, raurekau, karamu, punga, kiekie, supplejack, toikiwi, &c. Soil of inferior quality, clayey loam and sandy clay, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Situated fourteen miles and a half to fifteen miles and a half from Taheke or twenty-three miles and a half to twenty-four miles and a half from Kaihu Railway-station by formed wagon-road.

NOTE.—The foregoing sections are in what is known as the “moss” or “wet” country. This area is affected by an excessive rainfall, making it very difficult to secure a burn after the bush has been felled.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the thirtieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Altitude, 10 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Broken land, covered with fern, manuka, and tutu. Soil of inferior quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by springs. Situated two miles and a half from Ohiwa Wharf—a mile and a half by water at high tide and a mile rough track—or about seven miles from Ohiwa by rough horse-track.

Weighted with £39, valuation for improvements comprising whare 20 ft. by 12 ft., with iron roof and chimney; fencing 20 chains; draining; and grassing and scrub-clearing.

Altitude, 1 ft. to 35 ft. above sea-level. Undulating open land, 1 acre in grass and 3 acres scrub-cleared. Soil of good quality, of sandy nature, on sandstone formation; well watered by spring. Situated two miles from Ohiwa Wharf by water, and mud-flat can be used for horse traffic at low water.

Waipa County.—Tuhikaramea Parish.

Altitude, 40 ft. to 90 ft. above sea-level. About 8 acres swamp, balance undulating land covered with fern and scrub. Brown loamy soil, on clay subsoil; watered by swamp. Situated eight miles from Frankton Junction and seven miles from Whatawhata, by good formed road in each case.
