COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Cook County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £1,800 for the purpose of rebuilding decayed bridges in the Gisborne Riding, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan—namely, £1,200—at the same rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £3 17s. 6d. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Cook County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such part of such loan — namely, £1,200—the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/150 of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Gisborne Riding of the County of Cook; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Cook County Council this 20th day of February, 1913.

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Cook County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such part of such loan — namely, £3,000—the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/100 of a penny in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property in the Tolaga Riding of the County of Cook; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Council held this 20th day of February, 1913.

THE following resolution, made by the Parihaka Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

PARIHAKA ROAD DISTRICT.

Puniho Road Loan No. III, £650.—Resolution increasing Special Rate.

WHEREAS the Parihaka Road Board has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £650 for the purpose of making about 150 chains of the Puniho Road, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has provisionally approved (or finally granted) the application for such loan at the rate of 3¾ per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance such loan (or part of such loan)—namely, £650—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of 3⅞ per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Parihaka Road Board hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such loan (or such part of such loan)—namely, £650—the said Parihaka Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 21/64 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Puniho Road Loan No. III Special-rating Area, comprising Sections 9 and 10 of 7, Block V; 6 of 7 and 2 of 35, Block IX; 7 of 7, Block V; 1 of 35, Block IX; 36, 37, 1, 2, 3, of 30, Block IX; 16 of 3, 15 of 3, 14 of 3, Block X; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of 7, Block V; all Cape Survey District, being part of the Warea Ward of the Parihaka Road District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such (or such part of such) loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such (or such part of such) loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such (or such part of such) loan is fully paid off.

I certify that this resolution was duly passed at the Board meeting on the 13th February, 1913.

Resolution Striking Rate.

WHEREAS the Wairoa County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow the sum of £40,000 for the purpose of forming, bridging, and metalling various roads within the county, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan—namely, £16,000—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £3 17s. 6d. per centum per annum:
