Additional Land at Kakahi taken for the Purposes of
the North Island Main Trunk Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the North Island
Main Trunk Railway to take further land at Kakahi, in
addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the
said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me
by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of
the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road in Winton Hundred.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
line of railway known as the Forest Hill Tramway, and it
is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes
of a road:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of
Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes:
And whereas such land is situated in the County of
Southland, the local authority of which has assented to
the issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct and
maintain the said road:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of
the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be
under the control of the Southland County Council, and
shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as
other public highways are controlled and maintained by the
said Council.

Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land at Addington
for the Purposes of the Hurunui-Waikati Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909,
it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or
making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public
Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any
compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found
that the land or any part thereof is not required for the
purpose for which it was taken, the Governor may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation
either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary: And
whereas certain land in Rural Section No. 145, Block X,
Christchurch Survey District, was taken for railway purposes
by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908,
dated the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and twelve (hereinafter termed 'the said Proclamation'), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of
the twenty-second day of the same month (which Proclamation
was subsequently amended by a notice published in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 64, of the twenty-fifth day of July,
one thousand nine hundred and twelve: And whereas it is
found that a certain part of the aforesaid land is not required
for the purpose for which it was taken: And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the said land has not
been paid or awarded:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the
