Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land in Belmont Survey District for the Purposes of the Wellington–Napier Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken, the Governor may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary: And whereas it is found that a part of certain land in Block XI, Belmont Survey District, taken for railway purposes by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seven (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 49, of the sixth day of the following month, is not required for the purpose for which the said land was taken: And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the said land has not been paid or awarded:

Now, therefore, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the said Proclamation as affects two roods thirteen decimal four perches (shown partly coloured blue and partly edged yellow on the plan marked W.R. 19885 (sheet 8), deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wellington), such land being part of the land lastly mentioned in the Schedule to the said Proclamation.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Honourable Sir Robert Stout, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Chief Justice, Administrator of the Government in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Amendment of Regulations under the Education Act, 1908, regarding Probationers.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of January, 1913.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto the regulations in force relating to probationers, and doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

THE regulations relating to staffs and salaries in public schools made by Order in Council dated the 17th day of December, 1908, as amended by the regulations relating to probationers and pupil-teachers made by Order in Council dated the 18th day of May, 1909, are hereby further amended, so far as they relate to probationers, as follows:—

  1. As to clause 1 thereof, by omitting all the words after the word “year” in the first line of the clause, and inserting in lieu thereof the words “beginning with the year 1913, the Board may appoint one probationer for each eight hundred or part of eight hundred children in yearly average attendance in the district.”

  2. As to clause 4 thereof, by omitting the words “with the exception of those appointed in the year 1909 with a term of one year.”

  3. By adding the following new clause:—
    “10. Probationers during their period of service or subsequently shall not be eligible for appointment as pupil teachers.”

Amendment of Regulations under the Education Act, 1908, regarding Training Colleges.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of January, 1913.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto the regulations in force relating to training colleges, and doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

THE regulations relating to training colleges, made by Order in Council dated the 13th day of February, 1911, are hereby amended as follows:—

  1. As to clause 18 thereof, by inserting the number “125” in lieu of the number “100” in the last line of the clause.

  2. As to clause 21 thereof, by adding thereto the following paragraph:—
    “The opportunities for observation of the child and of the methods of teaching referred to in paragraph (e) shall be provided at the Normal School or in any class or classes of a school or schools within convenient distance of the training college, if the teacher or teachers of such class or classes are approved for this purpose by the Board on the recommendation of the principal and by the Minister.”

  3. As to clause 22 thereof, by inserting the number “(1)” at the beginning of the clause, and by adding the following subclause:—
    “(ii.) Notwithstanding anything contained in the preceding subclause (i), students of Division A to a number not exceeding 25 in any one year may, until the Minister otherwise determines, be admitted for one year of training only.”

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of January, 1913.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 44, of the fourth day of June following, certain regulations were made for controlling the traffic on Lakes Rotorua and Rotoiti and the management of wharves erected therein, and prescribing dues for the use thereof: And whereas it is desirable to amend the said regulations in the manner hereinafter described:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke Regulation No. 19 of the hereinbefore-recited
