NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
are opened for selection on renewable lease; and
applications will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock
p.m. on Monday, the 24th day of February, 1913, under the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908; and the Land for Settle-
ments Act, 1908.

DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF SECTIONS.

Section 1, Block II.—Altitude, 800 ft. to 1,100 ft. above sea-
level. Open agricultural and pastoral country, mostly plough-
able, undulating; well watered and grassed; fair soil, on
papa formation. Ring-fenced (excepting 7 chains between
this section and Section 4) with post-and-wire fence in good
repair, and stockproof gorge on eastern boundary. Situated
thirty miles from Napier by main Patea Road. General
aspect easterly.

Section 2, Block II.—Altitude, 800 ft. to 1,050 ft.; similar
to Section 1. Ring-fenced, except eastern boundary, with
post-and-wire fence in good repair and stockproof gorge.
Small hut in plantation near western boundary. Situated
twenty-eight miles and a half from Napier by main road.
General aspect northerly.

Section 3, Block II.—Altitude, 800 ft. to 1,050 ft. Flat to
undulating open agricultural and pastoral country, fairly well
grassed, and well watered; nearly all ploughable. All bound-
aries, except eastern, are fenced. Situated thirty miles from
Napier. General aspect southerly.

Section 1, Block III.—Altitude, 600 ft. to 900 ft. Open
agricultural and pastoral country, undulating to hilly; lime-
stone and papa formation; nearly all ploughable. 74 acres
in three paddocks have been ploughed, and sown in good
grass; 21 acres at present in oats, and will be in stubble on
1st March; the balance is in good grass, not yet ploughed.
There are shelter plantations on this section. Road-frontage,
northern, and eastern boundaries are fenced. Fairly well
watered; general aspect northerly. Situated twenty-three
miles from Napier by main road.

Section 1, Block IV.—Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,050 ft. Open
and scrub land, fair to good soil, undulating with rough faces,
agricultural and pastoral country; well watered, and in good
grass; about half ploughable. Road-frontages, western, and
southern boundaries are fenced, and the section is divided
into three portions by wire fences. Fence near south-eastern
boundary cuts off a considerable portion of section. Situated
twenty-one miles from Napier by formed road.

Section 2, Block IV.—Open and scrub land, good soil and
grass, undulating to rough; well watered. Road-frontage
and portions of eastern and western boundaries are fenced,
and there is one internal fence subdividing section into two.
About one-third ploughable in patches. Altitude, from 600 ft.
to 950 ft. Situated twenty miles from Napier.

Section 3, Block IV.—Altitude, 300 ft. to 850 ft. Open
and scrub land, from fair river-flat to rough gully faces; well
watered, and in fair grass. Road-frontage, eastern, and part
of western boundary are fenced. Fence near south-eastern
boundary is considerably off boundary. About one-quarter
of section ploughable. Situated twenty miles from Napier.

Section 2, Block VI.—Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. Open,
undulating, agricultural and pastoral country; fairly well
grassed. Water may need conserving when subdivided into
paddocks. Nearly all ploughable. Fenced on northern,
southern, and portion of the eastern boundaries. Situated
twenty-nine miles from Napier. Aspect generally southerly.

Section 3, Block VI.—Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft.; similar
to Section 2 above. Ring-fenced, with exception of portions
of southern and western boundaries. Situated twenty-eight
miles and a half from Napier. Well watered.

Section 4, Block VI.—Altitude, 750 ft. to 1,000 ft. Most
of this section has lately been laid down in grass, about 80
acres has been in turnips and not ploughed or sown since.
The western, main road, and portion of southern boundaries
are fenced, and there is a fence near branch road on eastern
boundary, and two subdivisional fences. There are two small
huts near western boundary. Fairly well watered. Situated
twenty-eight miles from Napier.

Section 5, Block VI.—Altitude, 800 ft. to 1,200 ft. Open,
undulating, agricultural and pastoral country; with excep-
tion of south-western corner nearly all is ploughable; aspect
northerly; well grassed and watered. Access by branch
road thirty-one miles from Napier. Ring-fenced, with excep-
tion of north-eastern corner.

Section 6, Block VI.—Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,050 ft. Open,
flat to undulating, agricultural and pastoral country, well
grassed and watered; northerly aspect; nearly all plough-
able. Access by branch road thirty-one miles from Napier.
Ring-fenced, with exception of two portions of northern and
western boundaries.

Section 7, Block VI.—Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. Open,
undulating, agricultural and pastoral country. About 265
acres has been in turnips and not ploughed or sown since;
the balance is fairly well grassed and well watered. Only
north-western boundary fenced, and there is fence near road-
line. Nearly all ploughable. Situated twenty-eight miles
and a half from Napier.

Section 1, Block VII.—Altitude, 750 ft. to 1,050 ft. Open,
undulating, agricultural and pastoral country; general
aspect southerly; nearly all ploughable; well watered; laid
down in grass. Northern and southern boundaries fenced,
and subdivided into two by internal fence. Situated twenty-
five miles and a half from Napier by main road.

Section 2, Block VII.—Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,150 ft. Open
agricultural and pastoral country, chiefly consisting of hilly
country and steep gully faces, but with about 120 acres good
ploughable land; undulating; this having been ploughed and
laid down in good grasses; well watered. Subdivided into
three by fences and gorges. Fenced on northern boundary
(except Section 6), on eastern (by gorge), and portions of
southern boundaries. Situated twenty-five miles from
Napier by main road.

Section 3, Block VII.—Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,000 ft. Open
agricultural and pastoral country, undulating to hilly; nearly
all ploughable. About 300 acres is at present in oats, the
balance being in grass. Well watered. Ring-fenced, and
subdivided into two paddocks. Situated twenty-three miles
and a half from Napier.

Section 4, Block VII.—Altitude, 600 ft. to 900 ft. Agri-
cultural and pastoral country, flat to undulating, open and
scrub land; about two-thirds ploughable; well watered and
grassed. Ring-fenced, with exception of road-frontage.
Situated twenty-seven miles and a half from Napier.

Section 5, Block VII.—Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,000 ft. Open
agricultural and pastoral country, consisting principally of
two long spurs; good sheep-country; more than half plough-
able; well watered; in fair grass. Fenced on all sides,
except a portion of north-eastern boundary. The fences near
Okawa Stream and Waitara Stream are not on boundaries,
and road is unfenced. Divided into paddocks. Situated
twenty-eight miles and a half from Napier.

Section 1, Block VIII.—Altitude, 600 ft. to 900 ft. Open
agricultural and pastoral country, flat to hilly; nearly all
ploughable; well watered and grassed; 140 acres in new
pasture, 42 acres in oats, 57 acres older ploughed pasture,
and balance unploughed pasture. Fenced on frontage and
almost all of eastern boundary, and divided into four
portions by internal fences.

Section 2, Block VIII.—Altitude, 350 ft. to 850 ft. Open,
flat to undulating, agricultural and pastoral country; nearly
all ploughable; well watered and grassed. With the excep-
