Resolution made by the Council of the Borough of Te Aroha.

THE following resolution, made by the Te Aroha Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BOROUGH OF TE AROHA.
Resolution making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,500, authorized to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending and enlarging (including a refund to the district fund of the sum of £1,000 already expended in extension-work) the electric-light works of the Borough of Te Aroha, the said Te Aroha Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 8½d. per pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis of annual value) of the rateable property of the Borough of Te Aroha; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at a meeting of the Te Aroha Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 27th day of November, 1912.

Resolution made by the Council of the County of Matamata.

THE following resolution, made by the Matamata County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Resolution making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorized to be raised by the Matamata County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of improving the grades and metalling certain portions of the following roads:—
(1.) Main road from the Gordon-Waharoa Junction to the Patetere boundary;
(2.) Gordon-Waharoa Road;
(3.) Matamata to the junction Hot Springs Road, towards Turanga-o-Moana Creamery;
(4.) Arawa Street, Matamata Creamery to the railway-crossing, southern end of township;
(5.) Mr. J. Pohlen’s corner to the Mangawhero Creamery;
(6.) Peria Road; and
(7.) Station Road—
the Matamata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 9/16 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Matamata Riding, Matamata County, comprising the whole of the rateable area within the Matamata Riding: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, the rate of interest to be 5 per cent., with a sinking fund of 1 per cent. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the first half-year’s interest.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Matamata County Council held on the 27th day of November, 1912.

THE following resolutions, made by the Lower Hutt Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
£2,230 Loan for Drainage, &c.—Resolution making and levying a Special Rate of 6/133 of a Penny in the Pound.
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the loan of £2,230, authorized to be raised by the said borough, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes—for expenditure necessary for the construction and provision of sewage drainage in the northern portion of Main Street, Park Avenue, Old Military Road, Fry’s Lane, and Hautana Street; manhole-covers and fixing in the western drainage system; two pent-stocks; centrifugal pumps and fittings at septic tanks; spares for new pump, and case; extending the shafting in pumping-station; shed for pump; starter for engines, and air-compressor; new artesian wells, and contingencies—the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 6/133 of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Lower Hutt, the boundaries of which are gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette of the 29th day of January, 1891; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed this 25th day of November, 1912, as provided by section 4 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the loan of £1,270, authorized to be raised by the said borough, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purpose—for expenditure necessary to increase the capacity of the water-reservoir—the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/38 of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Lower Hutt, the boundaries of which are gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette of the 29th day of January, 1891; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
