Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Declaring Land reserved under the Land Act, 1892, for the Preservation of Scenery to be a Scenic Reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was by Warrant dated the twentieth day of December, one thousand nine hundred, permanently reserved for the preservation of scenery under the provisions of the Land Act, 1892: And whereas it is expedient that the said land should be declared a reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, from and after the date hereof, be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and its amendments.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 106 acres 2 roods 33 perches, more or less, being Section 2, Block X, Umutoi Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west generally by Umutoi Road; towards the north-east by Section 24, Block X, Umutoi Survey District, 323 links; towards the south-east generally by Sections 26 and 25 of said block, 3422 links, and by a river-bank reserve along the Pohangina River; and towards the south-west by Section 21A of said block, 1766·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 7188/11, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

PUAWAI SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 25 acres 3 roods 35 perches, more or less, being Section 26, Block VI, Hunua Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east and east generally by the Main Trunk Railway, by the railway service road, and by Section 21, Block VI, Hunua Survey District, 205·1 links, 1023·4 links, 1046·2 links, 276·6 links, 253·4 links, 237 links, 45·7 links, and 681 links; towards the south, south-west, and west generally by Sections 21 and 19 of said Block VI, 458·4 links, 681·2 links, 561·1 links, 1139·9 links, 509·2 links, 1231·9 links, and 145·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 78/7, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Resuming Land for a Site for a Public School in the Otago Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under lease in perpetuity from His Majesty the King under Part III of the Land Act, 1892, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1894, dated the twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a site for a public school:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under lease in perpetuity as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being part of Section 6, Block XIII, Pomahaka Survey District (Pomahaka Downs Estate). Bounded towards the north-west by other part of said Section 6 of said block, 300·3 links; towards the north-east by other part of said Section 6, 337·2 links; and towards the south-west by a public road, 373·8 links and 604·2 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is
