Runanga Township is situated adjacent to the State Coal-mine, four miles from Greymouth, with which it is connected by railway. The whole of the streets in the township have been formed and gravelled.

Small Lake at Waikari, Canterbury, to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the small lake situated near the Waimate Road, Waikari, and being more particularly on Rural Sections Nos. 24073 and 24202, Waipara Survey District, containing 3 acres, more or less, the property of Mr. Henry T. Matthews, shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

to be the Returning Officer for the purposes of conducting the first election of Commissioners of the Town District of Otaki, County of Horowhenua, as constituted by the Town Boards Act, 1908; also to appoint Wednesday, the 27th day of November, 1912, to be the date, and the Road Board’s office at Otaki to be the place, at which such first election shall be held; and also to appoint Wednesday, the 4th day of December, 1912, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, to be the time, and the said Road Board’s office at Otaki to be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Commissioners shall be held.
