Opening Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the eighth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT. — DANNEVIRKE COUNTY. — TAKAPAU SURVEY DISTRICT.

First-class Land.

Weighted with £740, valuation for improvements consisting of dwellinghouse of ten rooms, wool-shed, stable, fowl-house, buggy-shed and three-bail cow-shed combined, wash-house and yards. This amount can be paid for in cash or by twenty half-yearly instalments of £47 18s. 4d. Total half-yearly payment under occupation with right of purchase, £71 8s. 4d.; under renewable lease, £66 14s. 4d.

All good ploughable land, nearly all being natural clearing; in English and native grass; well watered; 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Situated a mile and a quarter from Norsewood and four miles from Kopua Railway-station by good metalled roads.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Opening Lands in Southland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-second day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—OTAGO MINING DISTRICT.

Second-class Land.

Sections 1, 15, 16, and 22.—Altitude, about 25 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. Flat, undulating, and broken land, covered with mixed bush of no commercial value. Soil fairly good, on clay, sandstone, and diorite formation; suitable for pastoral or dairying purposes; watered by small streams. Situated from one mile and a quarter to two miles by formed and partly metalled roads from Oraka Township, railway-station, school, &c.

Sections 18, 19, and 24.—Altitude, from about 15 ft. to 50 ft. above sea-level. Flat, undulating, low-lying, swampy and peaty in places; covered with light mixed bush and scrub of no commercial value. Soil fairly good, on clay, gravel, and sandstone formation; watered by small streams; suitable for pastoral and dairying purposes. Situated about three-quarters of a mile to one mile and a half from Oraka Township, railway-station, school, &c.

Section 1 contains a grass clearing of about 14 acres. About 30 chains of road to it are not yet formed.

Opening Town Lands in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the town lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the 17th day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
