NOTE.—Classification of material and all other particulars of the job to be
mentioned on a ticket to be handed to the worker with each job.
- That all saddle-tweeds be third class, except in riding-breeches, which shall
be paid second class.
COATS.
Size.
The standard size for coats to be determined as follows: 34 in. to 42 in.,
the breast-measure over vest to be guide.
Oversize, for each 4 in. or fraction thereof over 42 in. round chest over vest to
be time in addition to standard time as follows: Sac coat, 1 hour extra; body
coat, 1½ hours extra.
Undersize: Under 34 in. breast over vest to 30 in., 1 hour less in sac coats;
in body coats, 1½ hours less; under 30 in. breast over vest, 2 hours less in sac
coats, and 3 hours less in body coats.
OVERCOATS.
Size.
- Standard Size.—Overcoats, 34 in. to 42 in. round chest over vest, the same
as time set out under each kind of overcoat.
Undersize.—Under 34 in. round chest over vest, coverts, Chesterfields, long
overcoats, and ulsters, 1 hour less than the standard time; under 32 in., 2 hours
less than the standard time. Body overcoats under 34 in. as aforesaid, 1½ hours
less than the standard time; body overcoats under 32 in., 3 hours less than the
standard time.
Oversize.—Each 4 in. or fraction thereof over 42 in. round chest over vest
to be time in addition to the standard time as follows, viz.: In coverts and
Chesterfields, extra 1 hour; in long overcoats and ulsters, extra 1½ hours; in all
body-fitting overcoats, extra 1½ hours; if overcoats over 44 in. in length, 2 hours
extra to any of the foregoing items; and under 34 in., deduct 2 hours.
VESTS.
Size.
Standard Size.—Vest, 34 in. up to 42 in. round chest over vest, the same time
as set under “Vests” hereunder mentioned.
Undersize.—Vests under 34 in. round chest over vest, ½ hour less than the
standard time. Vests under 30 in. round chest over vest, 1 hour less than the
standard time.
Oversize.—Vests over 42 in. round chest over vest, for each 4 in. or fraction
thereof, ½ hour extra in addition to the standard time.
TROUSERS.
Size.
Standard Size.—Men’s trousers, 42 in. round waist measured, the same time
as set out under “Trousers” hereunder mentioned.
Undersize.—Trousers under 28 in. round waist as aforesaid, ½ hour less than
the standard. 26 in. and under round waist as aforesaid, 1 hour less than the
standard.
Oversize.—For each 4 in. or fraction thereof over 42 in. round waist as aforesaid, ½ hour extra in addition to the standard time.
DRESS COATS.
Planing and marking in shoulders, gorge, side seams, waist, top of back and pleats
(or an equivalent amount)—Seaming side seams, waist seams, lapels, side
body seams, pleats, pleat pockets—First press; basting in canvas and button
stays—Padding lapels and putting on stay-tape—Seaming facings, lapels,
and side linings, shoulder-seams—Second press; basting over facing, lining
—Felling in all linings, including four waist-tacks—Edges bluff, bound, or
stitched—Holes in breast, pressing off breast, buttons on breast, making
plain sleeves, one row of stitching, putting in sleeves—Joining coat—Cutting,
stitching, and padding collars—Blind vent at hands, not exceeding three
buttons—One-ply wadding and stitching round scye, back lined—Cuts in
gorge, not exceeding 2 in.—Pressing and covering collar, putting on collar
—Putting on hanger—Pressing off.
