  1. No cross-line fishing, stroke-hauling, or any other unsportsmanlike device shall be used for the purpose of taking, catching, or killing trout; nor shall any of the abovementioned baits be used with any medicated or chemical preparation whatever.

  2. Except as aforesaid, no person shall fish with or use any net, or any instrument, or device, or means for taking Salmonidae or trout in any lake, river, or stream within the district aforesaid, or at the mouth or entrance of any such river or stream; provided that nothing contained in this clause shall apply to the General Manager referred to in clause 1 of these regulations, or to any person authorized in writing by the said General Manager to net fish on behalf of the Department.

  3. No fishing of the form known as trolling or spinning a bait from a boat, launch, or canoe shall be practised in any river, spring, or stream flowing into or from Lakes Rotorua, Rotoiti, Rotoehu, Rotoma, Tarawera, or Taupo, or in the said lakes within a radius of 300 yards of the mouths (or outlets, as the case may be) of any of the said rivers, springs, or streams flowing into or from the said lakes, or any of them.

  4. Nothing herein contained, or contained in any license issued under these regulations, shall be deemed to authorize any person to fish for or take Salmonidae or trout from the Wairoa Stream between the waterfalls and Lake Tarawera.

  5. No person shall buy, sell, or expose or offer for sale, or shall fish for the purpose of obtaining for sale, any trout, or any part thereof; provided always that this clause shall not apply to fish bought or sold by the General Manager referred to in clause 1 of these regulations, or to any person authorized in writing by the said General Manager to purchase or sell fish on his behalf.

  6. The penalty for the breach of any of these regulations shall not be less than £1 or more than £50.

  7. If any person shall be convicted of an offence against these regulations, the license (if any) held by the offender shall thereupon become void.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

ROTORUA ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.

ALL that area bounded towards the north generally by Tauranga County from the north-eastern boundary of Matamata County to the sea; thence by the sea to the north-western corner of Opotiki County; thence towards the east by Opotiki County to its south-western corner; thence towards the north-east by Waikohu and Cook Counties to the sea; thence towards the east and south-east generally by the sea to Moengiangi; thence towards the south generally by the leading spur and the southern watershed of the Waikare River to the summit of Taraponui Mountain; thence by the leading spur to the confluence of the Mohaka River and the Waipunga River; thence by a right line to Tatarakino Mountain; thence by the eastern watershed of the Mokomokonui Stream to the summit of Pohokura Mountain; thence by a line running due east to the Pukahuni Stream; thence by the leading spur and the western watershed of the Te Hoe River to Maungataniwha Trig. Station; thence by the north-eastern boundary of Heruwi No. 4 Block to the northern boundary of Wairoa County; thence by the Wairoa County to the Napier-Taupo Road; thence by Hawke’s Bay, Rangitikei, Waimarino, and Kaitieke Counties to the confluence of the Wanganui and Ongaruhe Rivers; thence towards the west generally by Ohura and Waitomo Counties to the summit of Rangitoto Mountain; thence by a right line to the summit of Puwhenua Mountain; and thence by Matamata County to the southern boundary of Tauranga County, the place of commencement.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

MEN’S [WOMEN’S] [BOYS’] [HALF-SEASON] [DAY] LICENSE TO FISH.

The Fisheries Act, 1903, and Amendments.

The holder of this license [Name in full], of [Address], [Calling or occupation], having this day paid the sum of , is hereby authorized to fish for trout within the Rotorua Acclimatization District from the day of 19 , to the day of , 19 , subject to the said Acts and to the regulations made thereunder for the time being in force in the said district.

Validating Special Roll and Poll in connection with Loan of £5,800 of Borough of Pukekohe.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of October, 1912.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the Pukekohe Borough Council lately proposed to raise a loan of £5,800 under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for the purposes following:—

  1. The completion of the borough waterworks and payment of all liabilities and debts incurred by the Pukekohe Borough Council or the late Pukekohe Town Board in or about the construction of the same, including payment of interest on such liabilities and debts from the time of the same becoming due until payment thereof, and including payment of all clerical, engineering, and other expenses incidental to the completion of the said waterworks, four thousand one hundred and fifty pounds:

  2. The purchase and installation of water-meters, seven hundred and fifty pounds:

  3. The extension of the borough waterworks within the area of the late Pukekohe Town District, and payment of all clerical, engineering, and any other incidental expenses in connection therewith, five hundred pounds:

  4. Payment of all legal, clerical, advertising, banking, brokerage, and other charges, and cost of and incidental to the raising of the said loan, and the interest on the said loan for the first year, four hundred pounds:

And whereas the special roll, although deposited for public inspection for not less than seven days, was not deposited before the steps described in sections seven to thirteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, were taken:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate such irregularity:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and twenty-one of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, as amended by section seven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the said special roll and also the poll of the ratepayers on the said proposal to raise the said loan, and doth hereby order and declare that the proceedings relative to such loan shall not be called in question by reason of the irregularity aforesaid.

WHEREAS the Pukekohe Borough Council lately proposed to raise a loan of £1,750 under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for the purpose of replacing the amounts allocated in the loan raised by the late Pukekohe Town Board, as specified in the ballot-paper at the poll taken by the Board on the tenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and which have not been expended on the roads therein mentioned, and paying all engineering, clerical, and other expenses incidental to the carrying-out of such work:

And whereas the special roll, although deposited for public inspection for not less than seven days, was not deposited before the steps described in sections seven to thirteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, were taken:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate such irregularity:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and twenty-one of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,
