Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Makaka Domain.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of October, 1912.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain :

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the twenty-first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and two, certain powers were delegated to the Makaka Domain Board for a period of ten years :

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the twentieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twelve :

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

MARTIN WALKER BARKER,
HECTOR CAMPBELL,
CHARLES ALLENBY,
WILLIAM JAMES ARTHUR, and
CECIL EVANS

to be the Makaka Domain Board having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the residence of Mr. Charles Allenby, Makaka, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.


SCHEDULE.

MAKAKA DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block X, Kaupokonui Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 31, 458 links; towards the east by Section No. 3, 437 links; towards the south by Opunake Road, 458 links; and towards the west by Section No. 29, 437 links.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres, more or less, being Section No. 43, Block X, Kaupokonui Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Sections Nos. 35 and 37, 1742 links; towards the east by Aui Street, 804 links; towards the south by Section No. 52, 1742 links; and towards the west by Section No. 51, 804 links.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1429/15A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Karioi Domain.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of October, 1912.

And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the domain :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

WILLIAM McALPINE DUNCAN,
JAMES THOMAS KENNEDY,
ALEXANDER STRACHAN, and
WILLIAM STRACHAN

to be the Karioi Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the said Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, at half past seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and Mr. James Allen’s Boardinghouse, Karioi, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.


SCHEDULE.

KARIOI DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 102 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block VI, Karioi Survey District. Bounded towards the west and north generally by the Omarae Stream and by Crown lands, being part of the Rangiwaea 4f No. 1 Block; towards the east generally by the Waitaiki Stream; towards the south-west by the abutment of a road, by Crown land, and by a stream-diversion to the Omarae Stream aforesaid: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1386/7, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where a local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council :

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject
