No. 19 and Sections Nos. 1 of 49 and 2 of 49, Block VI, Dun-
edin and East Taieri Survey District; thence by Sections
Nos. 68 and 57, Block VI aforesaid, and by the eastern bound-
ary-line of the last-mentioned section produced across a road
to Section No. 144, Wakari Survey District; thence by the
road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 57,
56, 55, and 54, Block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey
District, and across a road to the southernmost corner of
Section No. 155, Wakari Survey District; and thence again
towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 155, 156, 157, 158,
159, across a road, and by Sections Nos. 160, 161, 162, 49,
48, and 47 to a point in line with the southern boundary of
Section No. 50, aforesaid district; thence across a road and
by the last-mentioned section to the westernmost corner of
Section No. 21, aforesaid district; thence by the northern
boundary-line of that section to the south-eastern corner of
Section No. 32, aforesaid district; thence by part of said
Section No. 32, by Allotment No. 10, Block II, Chalmerston
Township, across a road, and by Allotments Nos. 16 and 10,
Block I, Chalmerston Township, to the main North Taieri
Road; thence across that road and by Section No. 31, afore-
said district, to Section No. 1 of 32, Block V, Dunedin and
East Taieri Survey District; thence again towards the north-
east by that section to its south-eastern corner, by the abut-
ment of a road, Section No. 57, a road, and Sections Nos. 56
and 59, Block V aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of Sec-
tion No. 53, Wakari Survey District; and thence again to-
wards the north-east, south-west, and west generally by the
Borough of Maori Hill to the middle of the road at the northern-
most corner of Section No. 68, Block XI, North Harbour and
Blueskin Survey District, the place of commencement.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section three hundred and eighty-nine of the Native
Land Act, 1909, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby lay out and take as a road the land described
in the Schedule hereto.

above mentioned, and deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington.

Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road at Solway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
Wellington-Napier Railway, and it is considered desirable
to allocate such land to the purposes of a road:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of
Railways that such land is not required for railway pur-
poses: And whereas such land is situated in the Borough
of Masterton, the local authority of which has assented to
the issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct and
maintain the said road:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the Public
Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in
anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall,
upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette,
become a road, and that the said road shall be under the
control of the Masterton Borough Council, and shall be main-
tained by the said Council in like manner as other public
highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

Proclaiming Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and seventy-
four of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter
referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided, inter alia,
that all Native land purchased by the Crown under the
authority of this Act shall, on becoming vested in severalty
in the Crown, become Crown land subject to the provisions
of the Land Act, 1908, and shall be proclaimed as such
by the Governor, and shall thereafter be administered and
dealt with accordingly:
And whereas the Native land set out in the Schedule
hereto has been purchased and has become vested in
severalty in the Crown:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority conferred upon me by section three hundred
and seventy-four of the said Act, I, John Poynder
Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land
set out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject
to the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land situate in the Wairoa
