Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by the Taranaki County Council.—Notice No. 1662.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Taranaki County Council has, by special order, declared gorse and ox-eye daisy to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the Taranaki County.

Varied Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Boot and Shoe Retailers’ Shops in the City of Auckland under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all shops in which boots, shoes, and slippers are sold by retail in the City of Auckland, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the following hours shall be gazetted as the hours of closing for all such shops, namely: 6 o’clock p.m. on four days in the week, 1 o’clock p.m. on the day of the statutory half-holiday, 9.30 o’clock p.m. on Saturdays, 11 o’clock p.m. on the evening preceding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and 9 o’clock p.m. preceding Anniversary Day, Good Friday, King’s Birthday, and Labour Day. The following days shall be observed as entire holidays: New Year’s Day, 2nd January, Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, King’s Birthday, Labour Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day:

And whereas the Auckland City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all boot and shoe retailers’ shops in the City of Auckland:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that, from and after the 28th day of October, 1912, all boot and shoe retailers’ shops in the City of Auckland shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The notice gazetted on the 25th January, 1906, fixing the closing-hours of retail bootmakers’ shops is hereby varied accordingly.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by the Customs Law Act, 1908, I, Francis Marion Bates Fisher, the Minister of Customs, do hereby revoke and annul Minister’s Order numbered 533 of the 14th day of February, 1896, and published in the Gazette of the 26th day of February, 1896, and do hereby appoint that the undermentioned buildings shall be places where goods may be deposited for examination on the landing thereof, namely:—

WHARF SHEDS, NAPIER, viz.:—

A shed marked “L” situated on Glasgow Wharf, Napier, and divisions 1 and 2 of a shed marked “B” situated on Iron Pot Quay, Port Ahuriri.
