Vessels are cautioned against anchoring over the “cable ground” in the area enclosed by a line drawn from Northcote Wharf (Stokes Point) to Ponsonby Wharf, and a line drawn 198° S. 3° W. (magnetic) from east extreme of Stokes Point to east point of Ponsonby.
The following plan shows approximately the position of cables in prohibited anchorage area :-

NOTICE is hereby given that the buoy marking the Harrison Rock, Prince of Wales Channel, Torres Strait, is reported to have disappeared.
It will be replaced as soon as practicable.

Notice to Mariners No. 124 of 1912.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—BEAN ROCK LIGHTHOUSE.—CHANGE IN CHARACTERISTIC OF LIGHT.

NOTICE is hereby given that on and after the night of Monday, the 21st instant, the light on Bean Rock, in Auckland Harbour entrance, will be converted from an oil-burning to an unwatched acetone-gas light, and the characteristic of the light will at the same time be changed from fixed to flashing, with a flash of one second followed by four seconds darkness. The colours of the various sectors will remain as at present.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Mangaorongo Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road in Block V, Mangaorongo Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Otorohanga, and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of such public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
