New Zealand Life-saving Appliances Rules not to apply to Dutch, Danish, French, Swedish, German, and Norwegian Ships while at Ports in New Zealand.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of October, 1912.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS it is enacted by section thirty-two of the Shipping and Seamen Amendment Act, 1909, that sections one hundred and ninety-seven to two hundred of the principal Act (the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908), relating to life-saving appliances, shall apply to all foreign ships while at any port in New Zealand :
Provided that the Governor may by Order in Council direct that those provisions shall not apply to any ship of a foreign country in which the provisions in force relating to life-saving appliances appear to the Governor to be as effective as those of the principal Act, on proof that those provisions are complied with in the case of that ship :
And whereas it appears to the Governor that the provisions in force relating to life-saving appliances in the countries named in the Schedule hereto are as effective as those of the principal Act :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that, on proof that ships respectively belonging to the countries enumerated in the Schedule hereto have complied with the life-saving appliances requirements of their respective countries, such ships shall not, while at ports in New Zealand, be subject to or required to comply with the provisions of the life-saving appliances rules made under the principal Act.

Amending Regulations for Trout and Perch Fishing in the Auckland Acclimatization District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of October, 1912.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS it is enacted by Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, that the Governor in Council may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, make regulations to have force and effect throughout New Zealand, or only in such waters and places as are specified in the regulations :
And whereas by Order in Council dated the seventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 77, of the tenth day of the same month, regulations for the Auckland Acclimatization District were made providing that no lure or bait other than the natural or artificial fly, or natural or artificial minnow, and any small indigenous fish, insect, grasshopper beetle, or spider shall be used, and that the use of shell-fish, koura, worms, or the houhou or matai grub shall be a breach of the regulations :
And whereas it is desirable to alter such regulations by providing that only artificial fly shall be used, in the Waihou River between the bridge next below the Okoroire Hotel and the bridge at Tirau, for taking trout :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby add the following proviso to the hereinbefore-recited regulation :—
“Provided that no bait other than artificial fly shall be used for taking fish in that portion of the Waihou River which lies between the bridge next below the Okoroire Hotel and the bridge at Tirau.”

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in the Town of Ormondville, Hawke’s Bay Land District.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, it is, amongst other things, enacted, that the Governor may declare his intention to change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and in the case of any reserve made under the authority of section three hundred and twenty-one of the Land Act, 1908, if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more of the purposes named in the said Class II, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in Part II of the Schedule hereto from that named in Part I of the said Schedule to that named in Part III of the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
PART I.
Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 16 perches, more or less, situated in Block IX, Takapau Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Norsewood Road, a distance of 640·8 links; towards the south-east by a road-line, a distance of 382·4 links; and towards the west by a road-line, a distance of 585 links, to the starting-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1911/1020A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Set apart as a site for a Courthouse by notification in Gazette No. 96, of the 20th day of September, 1883.
PART II.
Description of Portion of Reserve the Purpose of which it is intended to change.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 18 perches, more or less, being Section 2, Block XIII, Town of Ormondville. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 1, Block XIII, a distance of 42·55 links; towards the north-east by the Norsewood Road, a distance of 172 links; towards the south-east by a road-line, a distance of 113·64 links; and towards the west by Section 1 of said block, a distance of 136·1 links, to starting-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1911/1020B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
PART III.
Intended Purpose.
Site for a post-office.
