Land taken for the Purposes of constructing a Bridge over the Hutt River, and for Approaches thereto, in the Borough of Lower Hutt.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of constructing a bridge over the Hutt River, and for approaches thereto, in the Borough of Lower Hutt:

And whereas the Wellington City Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said bridge and approaches, and shall, as from the date hereinafter specified, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect from and after the thirty-first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway—viz., 46 Miles to 48 Miles.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the portion of the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway from Gisborne to Motu (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Public Works Act, 1908: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same—viz., from 46 miles to 48 miles:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Section 2, Block VI, Motu Survey District, marked 46 miles, which point is also the termination of the portion of railway described in a Proclamation dated the 17th day of July, 1911, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 59, of the 20th day of the same month; proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction for a distance of two miles, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, namely: Part of Section 2, and Section 1, Block VI, Motu Survey District; Motu No. 3, Blocks VI and II, Motu Survey District; and part Motu No. 1, Block II, Motu Survey District, and terminating in the said Motu No. 1 at a point marked 48 miles, which point is about 5 chains north of the point where the line crosses the Motu River: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Motu Survey District, in the Hawke’s Bay Land District: in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32480, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.
