Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Taumarunui, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BOROUGH OF TAUMARUNUI.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loans.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Taumarunui was taken on the 11th day of September, 1912, on proposals to raise a special loan of £550 for the erection of municipal and fire-brigade buildings and the acquisition of fire-brigade appliances, a further special loan of £1,600 for the acquisition of a municipal saleyard site and the erection of saleyards thereon, a further special loan of £325 for improvements to the public reserve within the borough known as the recreation-ground, and a further special loan of £525 for the acquisition of a stone-crusher and fittings, the purposes of each such proposals being fully set forth in the Taumarunui Press of 14th, 21st, and 28th August, and the 4th of September, being a newspaper circulating in the Borough of Taumarunui.

Proposal for Municipal Buildings, &c., £550.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 99. The number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 6. The total number of valid votes recorded was 105.

Proposal for Municipal Saleyards and Site, &c., £1,600.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 98. The number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 5. The total number of valid votes recorded was 103.

Proposal for Improvements to the Public Reserve, £325.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 88. The number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 15. The total number of valid votes recorded was 103.

Proposal for the Acquisition of a Stone-crusher, &c., £525.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 82. The number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 21. The total number of valid votes recorded was 103.

I therefore declare each of the above proposals carried.

BOROUGH OF TAUMARUNUI.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of that portion of the Borough of Taumarunui in the special-rating area, being all those lands situate within the following boundaries: (a) The railway-line in the north, the Wanganui River on the south, and the Ongarue River on the west; (b) the Rangaroa Village Settlement; (c) Subdivisions 1 to 27 (inclusive), Ohura South G No. 4d, known as Ngatai’s Extension—was taken on the 11th day of September, 1912, on the proposal to raise a special loan of £4,500 for the purpose of installing the Dreadnought gas within the borough.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 96. The number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 11. The total number of valid votes recorded was 107.

I therefore declare the said proposal carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of that portion of the Borough of Taumarunui in the special-rating area—i.e., all those lands delineated on the public map of the Native Township of Taumarunui, being Block I, Allotments 1 to 7 (inclusive), of Block II, Block III, Allotments 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 11 of Block IV, Allotments 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 16 of Block VII, Block VIII, Allotments 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 of Block IX, Allotments 2, 3, 4 of Block XIVA, and Allotments 1, 2, 3 4 of Block XV, all those lands being part of the block of land called Ohura South G No. 3, known as “Bell’s Extension,” being Section 7, Block I, Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Block II, Sections 1 to 6 (inclusive) of Block III, Sections 1 and 2 of Block IV—was taken on the 11th day of September, 1912, on the proposal to raise a special loan of £3,000 for the purpose of advancing for the cost of drainage and sewerage connections.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 35. The number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 1. The total number of valid votes recorded was 36.

I therefore declare the said proposal carried.

Notifying Land in the Otago Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Conical Hills Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 28th March, 1912.
