Notification of Deposit and Approval of Amended Rules of the Hobson Acclimatization Society.

IT is hereby notified that a copy of the Amended Rules of the Hobson Acclimatization Society, duly signed, has been deposited in this office, and has been approved by His Excellency the Governor in Council under the Animals Protection Act, 1908.

Notice respecting Proposed Borough of Anderson’s Bay.

Wellington, 19th September, 1912.

PURSUANT to section 117 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that he does not accede to the prayer of the petition, dated the 29th day of August, 1911, presented to him praying for the constitution as a borough, to be named the Borough of Anderson’s Bay, of the area described in the Schedule to the said petition and in a Schedule to a notice pursuant to section 117 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of October, 1911.

It is further notified for general information that no further petition containing a similar prayer may be presented to His Excellency the Governor until the expiration of at least one year from the date of publication of this notification in this Gazette.

Resolutions made by the Council of the County of Hawera.

THE following resolutions, made by the Hawera County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

HAWERA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate for Tangahoe Cutting Loan, £200.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same, the Hawera County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £200, authorized to be raised by the Hawera County Council, under the above-mentioned Act and the amendments thereof, for the purpose of constructing a cutting on the Tangahoe Road, in the Mokoia Riding of the Hawera County, commencing at a point 7 chains from the Dale Road and extending for a distance of 13 chains in a south-easterly direction, the said Hawera County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 7/16 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the special-rating area, comprising Sections 247, 248, and 249, Block 10, Hawera Survey District; Sections 261, 262, and 263, and the north-east portion of Section 260 (containing 50 acres), Block 13, Hawera Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 5th day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at a meeting of the Hawera County Council held on the 7th day of September, 1912.

Resolution making Special Rate for Burns Street Loan, £250.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same, the Hawera County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £250, authorized to be raised by the Hawera County Council, under the above-mentioned Act and the amendments thereof, for the purpose of constructing Burns Street, Hawera Extension, the said Hawera County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the special-rating area, comprising the southern half of Subdivision 2, Subdivisions 11 to 25 inclusive, of Hawera Extension Township; part Section 185, Patea District, Block 6, Hawera Survey District, as shown on deposit plan No. 2592; also Subdivisions 2 to 6 inclusive, and the southern portion of Subdivision 1 of Subdivisions 9 and 10 (containing 1 rood 18 perches), as shown on deposit plan No. 2784, Hawera Extension Township; part Section 185, Patea District, Block 6, Hawera Survey District; also Subdivisions 2 and 3 of Subdivision 1, as shown on deposit plan No. 2896, Hawera Extension Township; part Section 185, Patea District, Block 6, Hawera Survey District; also Subdivisions 11 and 12 and the north-east portions of 13 (2 acres 3 roods 13 perches), and 14 (1 acre 1 rood 20 perches), as shown on deposit plan No. 2590, Hawera Extension Township; part Section 185, Patea District, Block 6, Hawera Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 5th day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off,

Result of Poll for proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Mataura, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BOROUGH OF MATAURA.

Pursuant to Section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mataura taken on the 18th day of September, 1912, on the proposal of the Mataura Borough Council to borrow the sum of £8,000 for the construction and completion of drainage and water-supply works as follows: Drainage-works, £3,500; water-supply works, £4,500—the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 92, and the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 76; informal, 3; total, 171.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected."

AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to rate on Unimproved Values.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Akaroa was taken on the 5th day of September, 1912, on a proposal to adopt the system of rating on the basis of the unimproved value.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 45, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 71; informal vote, 1; total number of votes recorded, 117.

I therefore declared the proposal to be not carried.
